I've enjoyed the other two films, but this one looks to be the most interesting. I'm looking forward to this release. It also looks like the animation has taken another step up from the prior two films. I always thought that the first two had great visuals considering they were made for DTV release, but already this looks like it tops them. Maybe this film is benefiting from the work done on "Tangled".
I am disappointed with the cover art though. I really enjoy uniformity, and it's going to drive me nuts having the first two with such similar cover art and this one being a complete departure from that.

It does make me wonder why Disney can't be trusted with uniforms . . . what on earth do they do to them?
But to get back on topic, I'm really looking forward to this one. These are the kinds of stories I was always fascinated with (secret worlds in danger of being discovered) even when I was really little.

I was just taking a little break... too busy with homework. Anyway, I'm glad for all of the new GFR news!!!
My thoughts:
1. Love the new scene! Yes, Lizzie's dad is a bit bland, but I think he's meant to be. Tink with the car is pretty funny, but oh-so-perfect.
2. Glad they're not neglecting Terrence. I still think the reason he's not going is because Fairy Gary won't let him go anywhere after he snuck off to help Tink in Lost Treasure.
3. Ugh, cover art! I love how the first two go together perfectly. Was really really hoping they would keep the trend going. Oh well....

agreed. I never saw the first two films, but this one actually looks kind of decent. What bugged me about the old DTV's was the poor production values and butchering of classic characters/stories. There's none of that here. Tink is the only classic character here and when communicating with humans she is completely authentic. All the other characters are new. The visuals look pretty good as well.Old Fish Tale wrote:New trailer and new pixie preview! Click here! Oh my God, this film will be awesome!!!
I might give this one a try.

You should also give 'Tinker Bell' and 'Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure' a chance! They're absolutely delicious!
And I'm not a fan of DisneyToon Studios! 'Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest', 'Tinker Bell' and 'Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure' are the ones I liked! They were extremely faithful...

In the first trailer it's Tinkerbell who gets trapped and Vidia along with the other fairies is who tries to rescue her. Also in the first trailer it's the little girl who traps the fairy in the jar while in the second it's her dad despite her will not to.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Changed roles ? How so ?ajmrowland wrote:It looks as if TB and Vidia changed roles.
I'm guessing the changes were made in order to make Tink the one doing the rescuing and hence being the hero. The creators must have realized that having the protagonist being closed up in a jar and inactive for the most of the movie would be detrimental for the further development of the character.
The change with the little girl (instead of being the adversary, she helps the fairies) was made in order to make her a sympathetic character and illustrate that children have all these good qualities of purity and innocence which is something they share with the fairy world.
By making her dad the adversary who is representative of the adult world and its negative qualities (like excessive rationality, attempting to explain everything with science, not believing in fairytale creatures, being greedy, chasing after money and fame etc.) they suggest that what is wrong with the human world stems from adults and those negative traits.
Aren't these changes really odd considering how close to release the movie is? Wouldn't these sudden changes in story basically cost too much since most of the animation scenes would have to be redone?
