If you had a idea for an animated Disney movie...

Post by DisneyFan09 »

... what would it be like? Would you included non-Disney ideas/themes in that concept?

And by that, I mean such as...

- A story from the Bible
- A main character who has Asperger Syndrome or is an autistic
- A gay/lesbian couple
- A story about hip hoppers?'

I really wish Disney would do "The Little Red Hen" with a twist. That's my all-time favorite classic story.

I'd be for more graphic sexuality in Disney films.
As a Freud disciple, I see no reason why this shouldn't be so. :)

I would like to see them tackle The Pied Piper, but have them also show the point-of-view of the mice (kind of like Beauty and the Beast tells the story from the point-of-view of the enchanted objects as well as Belle and the Beast).

And also have the mice who didn't get hypnotised for whatever reason get teamed up with the boy who is asked to find the Piper who has stolen the town children.

Oh and with songs written by Joss Whedon.

Just a basic idea for a Disney animated musical I have. And I can see it working in either hand-drawn or computer-animated format. It's a flexible enough story, I think.

I know they've already done Hercules, but I wish they would make a film more true to the original Greek Mythology stories.

Another thing, I would like a film on Oliver Twist, one of my favourite classic novels. But dear God, by no means should it be a musical.

DisneyFan09, those concepts are not necessarily un-Disney. Remember Noah's Ark in Fantasia 2000? Walt Disney had religious themes in his films, he just never mentioned "religion". Like how in Fantasia they sing Ave Maria, and he was going to have stained-glass church windows, but went for the less religious people with candles. :)

And characters who are gay or have medical problems or are hip hoppers could all be the main characters of Disney films, as long as they do it the Disney way (no sex, no foulness, done in a classy way that children and adults can enjoy together, usually some element of fantasy, high quality, etc.)

Yeah cause kids arent allready over exposed to garbage like that on tv and in movies enough allready!.
seriously man disney animated films are primarily family and childrens entertainment, for someone to suggest that disney place graphic sexuality in their films is just disqusting! Its obvious you must not have any children or else you would see what is so wrong with post.

and if it was a joke, then youve got a messed up sense of humor and the joke fails misreably although i suspect you arent jokeing

Honestly I'd love to see adult-oriented animation from Disney (they are the greatest when it comes to hand-drawn animation after all) but I don't see it happening for obvious reasons. The thing is the fact that Disney (and animation as a whole) typically equals family entertainment in the collected public consciousness, and adult animation (even material not explicit) often makes people more uncomfortable than any live-action footage would because there's a different set of expectations. I'd like to see those expectations change, but they never will when there's the attitude of what cartoons are "supposed" to be.

Really . . . what would be wrong with a mature, sexy, action-packed, grown-up animated film targeted toward adults (perhaps in the vein of Kroyer's Arrow, which would have been far from pr0n). :p There's been a few out there but I can't say I've ever seen one done well.

Lighten up dude.

Nobody wants Disney to ACTUALLY make a porno. That's just silly. We're all well aware that Disney makes family entertainment, and that putting graphic sexuality in one of their movies would not be good. But you're the only one who seems to be offended at the mere mention of it. Hence, you not having a sense of humor.

I've always wanted Disney to do some darker material, where they can "Disney-ify" it, like they did to Hunchback.

The story of Aida or Les Miserables...I don't know, something that deals with more epic storylines. Or even something like a Shakespearean story or the tale of Ivanhoe. Or another history, like Pocahontas, about Rome/Emperors. Like Super Aurora said, a japanese tale would be great too!

There's many things I would like to Disney to take up, I just can't think of them all right now.

I think we should have a line (ala Classics) of pure adaptations of classic novels etc. in 2D animation with hardly any alteration, such as:

-Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet etc)
-Dickens (Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, Bleak House etc.)
-Don Quixote
-Austen (Pride & Prejudice)
-Animal Farm
-Catcher in the Rye
-Lord of the Flies
