At my local one last year they refused to take the Bedtime Stories coupon saying that they don't allow anything but Best Buy Rewards coupons in a really snotty manor or that I was wrong and that the coupon was more of a mail in rebate type paper. This caused a slight argument between two rather rude employees, my father and I. We ended up going to a department store called Zellers (for you non-canadians) and had no trouble at all. I went back to THAT Best Buy one time since then (for a special exclusives Office Boxed set) and I think my father has only twice but generally while those employees who we had trouble with are still there we are not.
Sorry to bring in something so moot but I'm still sore about that....one year later.

That is ridiculous. You could make a persuasive argument about anything to prove anything. That's a fact.
HOWEVER, the intention of the artist/director/writer etc. was probably not what you're trying to prove.
Film, like literature, or hell anything, is subjective. Each person takes away something different and that's how meaning and attachment is established. People would all love the same movie if they had no personal feeling for the subject matter, there would be one linear thought and that's sad.
Living how you're living is kind of pathetic because I'll bet anything you like I can make you dislike. Stick to your guns and you'll be okay.

Heh heh, completely understandable. I'm still sore about what happened to me at a Target over the Up and Monsters Inc. deal. Several of them didn't carry enough copies of Monsters Inc. and were out within a few hours, and those that did have both that and Up wouldn't accept the coupons and price matching all at once. One nice employee of a store that was sold out called around to several stores for me, and finally located one that still had one copy of Monsters Inc. and would be able to honor the deal. He had it reserved for me, and when I made it to that store I had to deal with a rude manager that refused to admit they sold that last copy to someone else instead of holding it, claiming that they didn't even carry that title (although I found the empty, labeled spot on the shelf for it). If he could have admitted there was a mix-up over holding it for me instead of claiming that they never had it (the shelf and the other employee's scanner said otherwise) or if he hadn't been adamant about claiming the employee at the other store didn't know what the hell he was doing (I saw how thorough and articulate he was), I would have understood. But being lied to and being treated so rudely is unacceptable.
I don't go to that Target anymore. So far I haven't had much trouble with Best Buy beyond the confused looks and extra hassle of the coupons . . . hopefully it'll stay that way.
When I was at Toys R Us, the cashier even asked, "Couldn't you find the $10 coupon?" (I had the $3 DMR coupon)...I then told her that it was only for the Blu-ray editions, but it was nice of her to let me know about the coupon! She knew her stuff!
Aw, enigmawing's latest Disney girls sig includes Ray so Tinker Bell won't feel left out being ultra tiny and glowy. Though Ray seems to have drifted away from her while daydreaming about his love.

I was wondering if anyone would spot him since he's so teen-tiny!

Technicalities to clear up.
Well, I don't think people intentionally spell it "wrong". It can get confusing because the product itself spells the word "blue" wrong, and when you're typing, it's so easy to just subconsciously type "blue" because that's how people are used to spelling it.
Of course, I am sitting out on blu-ray to wait for the inevitable gre-ray, purp-ray, or ray-ray (rainbow colored laser) which I suppose many people will just call "ray" for short. (Mr. Ray for Finding Nemo fans)
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag"- Mary Poppins
"How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know"- Pocahontas
"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether he be six or sixty. Call the child innocence." - Walt Disney
So, in this weeks ad Future Shop was advertising a graphic novel that would come "ONLY with the Combo Pack," which made me think it would be packed on to the case. Now I have to admit it was slightly tempting, but when I went into the local store, I noticed none of the combos had the book packed on, so I stuck with the stand alone Blu-ray. When I went to cashier, the sales associate just put the book in the bag with my stuff. Now, I didn't complain

Why do you listen to other people's negative views on innocent and heartfelt films like the Disney Classics? You should NEVER over-analyze animated movies that are based on 300 year old Fairy tales like Cinderella, Frog Prince, Beauty and The Beast. And if you have a problem with what you perceive to be symbolism in The Little Mermaid, try reading the original Hans Christian Anderson story.
I agree. It's one thing to over-analyze Harry Potter (the books just SCREAM for you to pay attention when re-reading), but another thing entirely to over-analyze something that's meant to be simple entertainment

Who are you? My goodness, what is all this jibber-jabber about conservatives and republicans on a freaking DISNEY FAN BOARD. The way you are looking at things is very strange. Honestly, you really need to just take it easy and RELAX. It's a Disney movie. Watch it, love it, sing the songs, love the characters, buy the movie, go take pictures with Tiana in Disney World. Or hate it and never watch it again. Whatever floats your boat. But the fact that you won't even watch just because of the fact that a select group of people will freak out about literally ANYTHING is sad. If YOU want to watch the movie, then watch it. If YOU don't want to watch it, then don't. But if YOU are going to let OTHER PEOPLE run your life, then don't complain about it. And if you are one of those people that actually have an issue with and believe the "controversies" surrounding the Princess and the Frog, then please, respectfully, leave this Disney fan board.
I watched all of the bonus features on the Blu-Ray today and while I would have liked a feature-length documentary really delving its making, the 22-minute featurette and promotional bits are very nice and informative.
The best extra is definitely the commentary, which really does a great job of delving into the production, bits that were deleted and scrapped (that didn't even appear in the deleted scenes section of the disc) and other great pieces of information. But, boy, does John Musker talk quickly or what? I don't recall him tacking as such a fast pace in his Aladdin and Little Mermaid commentaries, but here, he sounded like he was in a hurry.
The sneak peaks menu on the BD has a typo. Instead of "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue" It says "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Treasure", but "genuine Treasure" is listed already.
Watching the movie again, one question seems to be answered. No, it is answered. Tiana and Naveen cannot talk to Louis at the end of the movie when they're human. This is signaled by Charlotte's Dog talking about 30 min in and Tiana being surprised about it. Apparently, animals can only talk to other animals and voodo witch doctors, with the exception being Naveen and Tiana, who are natively human and can talk to humans as well when they are in frog form.

Well, a friend of mine assumed it might've stuck with Tiana and Naveen- the being able to speak to animals part- after they became human again. I mean, how else would they have offered Louis to play at their restaurant? Oh, wait.
Then, of course, another friend assumed that Mama Odie could have given them the gift of understanding animals as a wedding gift.
But then how it could be possible is left up to the imagination of the viewer, much like whether or not Dorothy/Alices's journey in Oz/Wonderland was real or just a dream.
Yeah, that's a pretty goo9d point there, i guess. Actually, that sorta thing's done all the time in Japan, so there's no reason for one moment in Western Culture not to have it.
I was watching the Blu-ray is Suite or whatever it's called bonus feature last night, and it irked me that they were talking about Snow White and they mentioned Prince Charming. Really, Disney...you should know what characters are from which of your films!
I know, but it just reinforces the public's thoughts that Cinderella's man & Snow White's man have the same name, or are the same person! I mean, Dylan Sprouse (I think it was him) could've just said "the Prince"...
