Hmmmm....I'm still debating whether or not to get the Blue Ray. I want to see the movie but the "racial controversies" has swayed me away from the film, sadly.

The iTunes version has "two exclusive featurettes" whatever they are, 11 featurettes in total, deleted scenes and a music video by Ne-Yo, whoever he is.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but...ugh...do the coupons have to be in color?

A little OT, but here are a few things:

wrong: blue ray, blue-ray, blue-ray dvd, blue ray dvd, blu-ray dvd, blu ray.

Right: Blu-ray, Blu-ray Disc.

Technicalities to clear up.

Anyway, can anyone tell me the Shopko price?

Nope, they don't; I never have color ink and they've always taken my DVD coupons (I did have trouble once, but eventually they took it). But, to be on the absolute safe side, click on Properties (or whatever it's called) before you print, and click on "print all images in black and white", so everything will be printed in black & white; otherwise, it might be an almost-blank page.

Thanks so much! I'm glad I asked. I've always thought about using coupons, but I don't have a printer on my home computer and the school computers only print b&w. I think I will buy the combo. now. :)

Racial controversies??? Really? There's nothing offensive about this film.

Seriously? And you call yourself a Disney fan? These so called "controversies" are just people looking for attention, and the fact that you're allowing that to effect your decision to watch the film or not only means that you aren't able to see the movie for a what it is: A MOVIE.

Almost every single Disney movie has SOME group of people trying to claim that Disney is out to rape everyone's children and burn everything that is good in the world. But when you realize that it's just a movie, meant to be enjoyed, then the fact that there are "racial controversies" will not effect anything in the slightest.

Buy the movie, and lighten up.

Is this about the makers daring to even consider having Tiana be a scullery maid named Maddie in the original script?

I'm certainly not happy with that way of thinking but I'm afraid to admit the my enjoyment for Disney movies have plunged down recently, heck, it has plunged down a lot. I can't even watch BATB, my favorite Disney me, without thinking of the claims the film glorifies and encourages women to say in an abusive relationship with men. It's amazing how a deep analyis of these movies can destroy/affect your enjoyment. It's also equally amazing how the words of feminists, religious fundies and soccer moms have a equal affect on me as well.

Trust me, it bothers (more like annoys me) me a lot but when I watch TLM and any other movie all I can think of are the alleged subliminal messages and the "dangerous messages". Whether it's the pathetic claim that TLM glorifies and encourages you to sell out your cultural heritage to fit in with larger society. Aladdin for girls to sell themselves out and The Lion King glorifying sexism, let's not forget Cinderella glorifying White Supremacy and being handed everything to yourself because you're White and female. It's very frustrating.

With TPATF, I'm more afraid of being accused of "selling out" because you're supporting a "racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-Semetic institution". And yes, I've heard people make those claims

Then why are you even on a Disney DVD website if you are against what Disney stands for and refuse to buy their products?

Best Buy finally got the P&TF books in. Went back & got mine. It's very nice. :D

I never let my experience be ruined by such pathetic attempts to take these movies off the market. Sure, the "sex in Lion King" got me a bit, but nothing in any of the other movies.

Just got my copy from Shopko, not because it was cheaper-their "sale" prices are everyone else' "full" prices- but because it was within walking distance of my house-if you're prepared to walk 1/2 hr there and 1/2 hr back, at the very least.

Don't the Blu-ray/DVD combo's cost around $30?
Nope, it's more like $26.99 and with the coupon, it's only $17 plus tax.
I'm in Canada but my copy came to $29.54 counting the coupon and tax.

Is that directed toward my post? I was implying with my question, were you thinking how dare the makers think to have Tiana be a scullery maid with the name Maddie. I forgot to mention that it wasn't my outlook on it. The idea made me curious but didn't get under my skin.

I'm refering to my way of thinking and I'm frusrated that I've let others people's perceptions of said films destroy my love for Disney's movies. I'm one who doesn't like to complain about something being PC (because it's a term conservatives/Republicans use a lot) but I do feel the feminists, the religious fundies and the soccer moms really go overboard with Disney films about their claims of Satanism, racism, sexism and homophobia (regardless whether or not Walt felt that way).

And no, I'm not against buying Disney products or what the company stands for (depending on what you mean) because this is the ONLY Disney movie that caused so much controversey before its release, it's still a debate of whether or not to purchase it or not. I wouldn't have bought OTHER Disney movies I were against the company.

I just got back from picking mine up at Best Buy. The book is slightly taller than the Tink one, maybe an eighth of an inch. And those poor employees . . . the printed out coupons always confuse the hell out of them. :p
