In my honest opinion, it is not disturbing at all. The reason those examples you mentioned are disturbing is because the artists made them real while keeping the exaggerated features. Homer, for example, had realistic skin texture, a five o clock shadow and realistic hair. Well, The Princess and the Frog wasn't in 3D and I don't think Winnie the Pooh will, either. I also don't recall seeing anything in the advertising that The Sorcerer's Apprentice will be in 3D.
