I don't think they could do anything to make this movie look/sound any worse. What happened to the serious, meaningful story lines from Beauty, Lion, Hunchback etc???? This is pointless, fluffy, crap.

Yeah, the only way to draw more boys to TLM is to just change her seashells a bit. :P

Today at work while I was spacing out about the whole Rapunzel title change issue instead of doing my job I settled that a title change wouldn't be so bad to me. I'm not saying I LOVE the idea of it not being title Rapunzel, but it's not really that bad of an idea. It's the title "Tangled" that makes me hate it. If its true that Disney is swaying away from "Tangled" due to that also being the name of a older graphic film, I hope it is changed to something like "The Secret of the Tower". It's gender completely gender neutral, and depending how they play it off it could reveal that it's that Rapunzel story without looking too fluffy. Aside from that, it reminds me of The Sword in the Stone. That title doesn't scream it's the King Arthur story, but it does elude to it.

I think Durcheinander Kommen sounds like a great German title. It kind of speaks for itself.

"The Secret of the Tower" though feels waaaaaay too generic of a title though. I can understand that they're trying to avoid how fluffy the Rapunzel story is but just looking at those toys a couple of pages earlier tells me they're not doing a good job avoiding such fluff

Secret of the Tower makes it sound like a National Treasure sequel.

But Tangled doesn't seem very representative of the film either, so...

The problem with Secret of the Tower is that, once people see a trailer, there will probably be no "secret" whatsoever.

Is there any official word from Disney that they are definately changing the title? The toys still use the Rapunzel title (although I do understand it might have been too late to fix that). I'm just wondering if we do have any official announcement or are we basing all of thme mayhem ob hear-say?

Hey everyone, I'm Roy Conli, producer of Disney's next animated film. I have some exciting news to share, and it was important to me that YOU guys – the Disney fans – hear it first. I want to tell you about Walt Disney Animation Studio's 2010 release, Tangled. It’s a really fresh,
smart take on the Rapunzel story.

In our film, the infamous bandit Flynn Rider meets his match in the girl with the 70 feet of magical golden hair. We're having a lot of fun pairing Flynn, who's seen it all, with Rapunzel, who's been locked away in a tower for 18 years.

I’m so proud of the crew working on this film – they’re doing a fantastic job creating an awesome story with great characters and a stunning world – and it's all going to look amazing in 3D. All of us
here at the studio are incredibly excited for you to see Tangled when it comes out in theaters this November.

Personally, I don't mind the Tangled title. No offense dear fairy tales fans, but Rapunzel is a, uh, how do I say this, very ugly name? (You would name your daughter Ariel, Jasmine or Belle, but not Rapunzel, would you? Thus, it's not the prettiest name around.) I can understand how it would something of a nightmare, marketing-wise. Of course, that doesn't mean they should change her name (heavens no!) but I'm fine with the title.

However, I hope they don't try to market this to boys too much. It's obvious that it's a princess story. Little boys aren't stupid, when they'll see the girl on screen they'll start to make barfing sounds (I have a 7-year-old nephew and he did it the whole time when we watched Enchanted). Older, teenage boys might be past that "girls have cooties" phase, but they'll think they're too cool for animated Disney films, so they won't see it anyway. They marketed Treasure Planet for boys and that failed horribly. I hope they leave well enough alone - we girls are half the world after all, and we'll watch this with infinite joy. They'll have Joe Jump and Cars 2 to market for boys.

Whoa whoa, hold on one second...The sword in the stone is about King Arthur ?!?! :P

But seriously, I really don't think that Tangled is a bad title. Like my explanation said a page back or so, we have no idea what kind of movie this is. It might fit the movie perfectly for all we know. This isn't the exact story of Rapunzel, and the new title might do well for it. I agree its not the nicest sounding title, but whatever. And it might not be fluff just because it has some animals in it. Who says they talk (well they might seeing that this is a Disney movie), but other than Home on the Range, I can't think of another movie where the horse talks. And a chameleon might do all its talking through its colour changes. I think they amped up the fluff factor for the toys just because they are meant for little girls.

I hate it when people use terms like "fresh/smart" take. That's like someone saying everytime a new Christmas Carol movie comes out that they're doing a "fresh smart" take on a version compared to one released a year prior.

Every film version of a classic story is gonna differentiate from one another. The decision of whether or not a version is fresh or original lies in the taste of the viewer.

Changing the title of the film may make it seem more appealing at first, but it will not change the content of the film. This could backfire badly if Disney wants boys to see it more than once and the film appears "girly" to them anyway.

Sell the film on it's own merits, not an idea ["it's for boys too", "it IS a Disney CLASSIC (no questions asked)].

the "Rapunzel" feature with post production and concept art for Rapunzel on disneyanimation.com has been removed completely... I guess we'll be getting a new logo and artwork soon. At least we'll see new artwork.... we can all skip the title...

I'm getting really excited to Tangled. It really does seem to better feature than the Princess and the Frog. Promising CGI eyecandy, reliable disney music guarenteed to be nominated for oscars, possible disney's most intriguing villian yet (if gothel is the only thing disney is faithfully adapting from the fairytale, good job!), sexy male lead and relatively sexy female lead (her older design was nicer imo) and charmelion! Yummy!

Honestly this movie is just sounding better and better.
