Wasn't really sure where to put this, but I am a member of a website where we take surveys on various different topics and the survey that I was asked to complete today was about Disney Animation.
It focused largely on The Princess and The Frog, asking questions about what I did and did not enjoy about it, about the title, the posters, if I thought it was marketed too much towards girls and even about the animation style vs. CGI.
Of course I did everything I could in the very long survey (took nearly 40 minutes to complete) to support traditional hand-drawn animation.
I really hope that other people who received the survey are supportive of hand drawn animation.
Some of the questions included:
How important is the style of animation in your decision to see the film ?
Did the posters represent the film ? Were they directed too much at girls ?
Do you think Disney animation is as creative as Pixar animation ?
Are Disney animated films too childish ?
Do you like the style of humour used in The Princess and the Frog ?
Some of the questions were very obviously aimed at things they are trying to work on, or had problems with, questioning the title of projects, types of characters, musical vs drama vs slapstick comedy etc...
Anyway, sorry I didn't get more of the questions written down. Thought it was interesting though, they are really trying to figure out what to do next.
