Iron Man (1994)

Post by disneyboy20022 »

With Robert Downey Jr.'s second turn as Tony Stark all set to fly into theaters on May 7th, the folks at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment are complementing that premiere with a DVD debut of the 1994 Iron Man animated series! Coming out earlier that same week, you'll get a 3-disc set with all 26 episodes, arriving May 4th for $29.99 SRP. Robert Hays (the Airplane films, TV's Starman) stars as the voice of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Here's a look at the package art, which features embossed foil o-sleeves around the plastic case:

May 4th to be exact which is the same day as X-Men volume 5

Question for Disney: why is pushing out these cheap licensed cash-in superhero releases to languish in the bargain bin, and putting out the Disney (you know... the name above the door) shows we love not?

Why can't I buy the complete season of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (a great Tad Stones series that's very DW esque in absurdity) when Toy Story 3 comes out?

I hate seeing all this stuff on the shelves sitting there not getting bought when they couldn't even finish what they started.

drnilescrane, I agree with you that it is extremely frustrating that Disney rarely finishes releases any series in a complete form whatsoever. However the X-Men cartoon is one of the most excellent animated series that has ever been and the Iron Man cartoon was great while it lasted as well. I am extremely thankful that each volume of X-Men has sold well enough that Disney is completing its release.

Iron Man was great back then... I'll definitely buy it to go with the X-Men sets (when I get money again.)
