The program's not working at all for me. I think it's because I'm using an intel processor, based on others' experiences.

Know any other good, noobie programs that might actually work?

EDIT: for the record, if anyone's interested in 2D animation, I downloaded a program called CreaToon. I'm about to try it out.

Windows 7, I assume? you should be able to get it to work, I had a lot of trouble too, I assumed it was impossible but got it working recently on my new lap top.

What you gotta do is use an older Vista graphics driver, and run it in vista compatibility mode when installing. if you can tell me what your on, 32bit or 64 bit I might be able to link you right to it.

update. added texture from the dvd to the bed spread, and started having fun with lighting a bit.

Also added new wood textures I made for both the desk and inside the toy chest.

I'm on a 64 bit, and right now learning to model in Wings 3D. Doing anything else will probably be with Anim8or, if I can. thx in advance!

Here are the steps given to me to get it working on windows 7, and my intel chip, only I replaced the accelerator with the 64 bit driver (original instruction was for 32)
I Think this is the driver I used but Im not sure. if its not the right one it shouldn't cause any harm, it just wont install.

* Backup a restore point if you can
* Download and install the intel INF update utility: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_ ... 1&lang=eng I recommend doing this every so often for any computer/laptop with an intel chipset.
* Download the vista drivers for your intel graphics card, dated back in August: http://fr1-dl.techpowerup.com//Drivers/ ... a_R222.exe
* Disable automatic updates if you haven't already. Just set it to notify you of new updates so that you can select the updates you want to install. This way windows 7 won't install over your vista drivers automatically.
* Completely uninstall your intel graphics card drivers if you can.
* Restart your computer
* Right-click the vista driver setup file you downloaded, go to properties, and set the compatibility to Windows Vista, and then install it.
* Restart and try Anim8or.

If it still doesn't work, try running Anim8or under compatibility mode for windows xp (sp 3), and disable desktop composition and visual themes. Let me know how it goes.

Oh, and if you manage to install the driver and the colors look like crap upon restart, dont be alarmed. For some reason, for me, it turned the gamma all the way up. Just go in to your color calibration and turn it back down.

2. I'm not sure, I didn't need to resort to that last step myself.

Maybe I should have asked which graphics card you have first. Is it the Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset family like mine?

So how far do you get exactly? Does the new driver install at all?

And to keep this a bit on topic, heres a quick update: I cut the hole for the door and started making my way out into the hall towards the stairs.

I vaguely remember letting it do it. what ever it is I did to fix it didnt take long. maybe it downloaded/installed the driver again on its own after installing the new driver, or I grabbed it manually. point is its not a big deal.

Working on the army men.

I'm thinking about animating these guys when its done, to do the drill from MJ's "This Is It". It could turn out pretty hilarious. Only thing is, how would I animate them while on their base? A lot of that choreography just cant be done without allowing the feet to separate completely.

Do I make them try it, and fall over in doing doing so? or allow them to remove their bases? maybe even show them sawing them off?
