Dont know if any of you Cats are interested, but I am excited to see this sequel. Ive already read mixed reviews,, but I dont care since its nice to preview a forthcoming DVD just a week before it arrives, and know whether you want to plunker down more $$

[19 Feb 04]*** Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation to premiere on Cable on the Encore Action Channel in April *** -- According to the latest update at www.starshiptroopers2.net, Starship Troopers 2 will premiere on the Encore Action Channel as part of the channel's Saturday Action Zone lineup. Look for ST2 to air on Saturday, April 24th at 10:00pm ET with an encore on Wednesday, April 28th at 10:00pm ET.

Starship Troopers was the worst sci fi movie I have ever seen.

You could see a boom microphone at one point

I agree with JimmyJackJunior it's the most horrible sci fi movie ever.
I only saw it once and I dislike it.

The sequel that will not be in the theatre will even worst.

I agree with you Gogo, I hope this is as good as the first one as well. It'll be directed by Phil Tippet and he's great at effects work, so here's hoping!

!
I never took the film seriously, but I didnt think you were really meant to.
I enjoyed the campiness and silly dialogue.Too me it was hilarious.
Like Spaceballs, but not so obvious. Oh well.....

I thought the original was a very entertaining, campy scifi movie. You're not expected to take it seriously. I have serious doubts though about the sequel. I missed it on Encore Action East (it's just ending now) but I'll catch it on the West coast feed to see if I'm mistaken. Casper Van Dien who starred in the original went to the same high school as me (about 25 years later) but his career reached its zenith with Starship Troopers & he's been on the Direct To Video el cheapo acting track ever since.
