DVDizzy Movie Awards 2010 - Nominations

Post by AwallaceUNC »

Image

Welcome to the Sixth Annual UltimateDisney.com / DVDizzy.com Movie Awards - 2010! I hope you will all join me in following in Jack Seiley's footsteps and honoring the best of 2009 in the world of film!

This is the first stage, in which you all get to nominate films in the following categories (and those categories only). You may nominate up to 5 films in each category (you may nominate less than 5, but no more than that). Please only nominate movies that you have actually seen. Nominations must come from films released in 2009. Yes, it's the 2010 Awards because that's when it takes place, but the films must come from 2009! The same film can be submitted for multiple categories. Though these awards may resemble the Academy Awards and we may look to the Academy's rules for guidance, those rules are not necessarily binding here and where there is any difference, the UD/DVDizzy Awards rules govern. Nominations for ineligible titles in any category will be disregarded.

You have until 11:59pm (eastern time) on Sunday, January 31 to submit your nominees. You may edit your votes up until that point but not after. Any posts edited after that time will have to be disqualified. The finalists will be announced shortly afterwards.

To browse through 2009 films by their US wide release date, go here: http://www.joblo.com/releases.php?mode= ... &year=2009

The categories are below:

Best DVD or Blu-ray Release of a Film
*
Best Direct-to-Video Movie of the Year**
Best Performance in a Bad Movie
Worst Film of the Year

* The DVD or Blu-ray must have been released during 2009 but the film itself may come from any year.
** The movie itself must have made its debut during 2009 and must not have previously been released to theaters. A 2009 re-release of a movie that first received a wide release on a home video format prior to 2009 will not be eligible.

Thanks to all who participate! :)

As in years past, the nomination and voting processes for the two awards ceremonies (Movies and Media) will be kept separate but they will be presented as part of the same ceremony.

Just to be clear, movies from any studio -- not just Disney -- are eligible. (I just noticed that all of your submissions are from Disney, Margos, which is of course entirely fine -- just want to make sure I was being clear about eligibility).

I realized that, Aaron.... I just prefer Disney movies to any other kind of movies. That's why I nominated all of the ones from this year (animated, anyway) for appropriate categories. I just feel that they deserve to be nominated, and hopefully win! :D

Sorry for the double post, but I think that two more awards should be added this year-best vocal performance in an animated feature, and best visual performance in an animated feature. If actors can be recognized for mocapping, animators should be too.
