It was announced this week that the fourth installment of Disney's highly successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise will begin filming in Hawaii this summer. Johnny Depp once again plays the flamboyant Captain Jack, and Geoffrey Rush reprises his role as his adversary, Barbossa. However, costars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are not expected to return.

if i had to chose between Johnny Depp or Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom for the 4th movie, i would chose Johnny Depp, so great news, even when i like Keira a lot. Wonder who will play the leading woman in this movie (i expect there is one).

Either that, or they'll have to retool the entire script.
Or..I imagine who could take the place of the characters....those to british guards who were in teh first movie while Jack was trying to steal a ship but ended up saving Elizabeth from drowning and at end of AWE the 2 soldiers apparently quit their jobs and went to Pirate life...

Q: Johnny, we heard that there's not going to be any Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom in the next "Pirates." Is it going to be more Jack Sparrow front and center?
Depp: Yeah, there's no Keira or Orlando in there. I don't know. I don't think we'd ever throw too much Jack Sparrow in there. It'll be everybody.
Q: You were sort of wavering a little after Dick Cook left. Have you regained your confidence about it or what reassured you?
Depp: One thing that I found very reassuring was a very good conversation with Dick Cook who is someone I admire greatly. That helped a lot. Also, knowing that we're coming at it from a different angle at this point. [Director] Rob Marshall and a totally new take and a new story.
Q: What did Dick Cook say after he left?
Depp: Oh, I mean he was just a perfect gentleman about the entire thing.
While I like Will and Elizabeth, I have to kind of agree that At World's End gave them some sort of closure (even if it's after the credits). I disliked how it ended, though. It will be weird to see a POTC movie without them but it will be something new as well.

well...apparently it will make a lot of Casting directors Happy according to this from the article
To ensure the authenticity of the potential actresses' breasts, casting agents will make them undergo jiggling and jogging tests and will turn away those with "nothing moving from the waist up".
Is this even Disney anymore??? honestly....what's next....Winnie the Pooh will be called Pooh Pooh and Natioanl Treausre 3 will have real down to earth politicians who make more sense than any poltician i've heard in the past decade
