Sarah Palin has now been hired to be a Fox News Commentator

I used to watch it, but not anymore. Glenn Beck was what turned me off. He's worse than Limbaugh.The_Iceflash wrote:Just curious, just how many of you who hate Fox News actually sat down and watched it before? But you wouldn't, in thirty years time, go on TV and sob about how life isn't like a commercial you saw 30 years ago, right? If I went on TV and said "Oh, children in my day were always going cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, and now I look at the news and never see any of that!" while blubbering on camera, people would think I was a loony. And rightly so.ajmrowland wrote:Well, I wouldn't remember that. Forget it... CNN has given up real, objective journalism a loooooong time ago. In the race for the ratings, they have thrown all that out of the window to become just another mouthpiece for corporate progaganda, like all other tv news (with a few exceptions here and there, like Bill Moyers and Rachel Maddow).disneyboy20022 wrote:anyway the award would probably going to CNN.....for the title win of a fair and Balanced broadcast award.....
Basically, if you want to see actual news, don't turn on your tv. A very good alternative is 'The Real News':
http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRealNews
And I have always thought this view of the de-volution of American tv news was spot-on:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3Q2EPKKVrqI&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3Q2EPKKVrqI&hl=nl_NL&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I have watched a *lot* of Faux Noise, on YouTube, just to keep up with the blatant lies and distortion. It's a sort of know-thy-enemy thing. I hate Fox because none of their hosts have ever told the truth about anything; they've been sucking Republicans' ass from the day they started, THEN dared to say they're fair and balanced.The_Iceflash wrote:Just curious, just how many of you who hate Fox News actually sat down and watched it before? Oh, and I despise them because they employ WAR CRIMINALS like Oliver North and Karl Rove. (But hey, so does the Obama administration.)

When I read that Sarah Palin called Fox News "Fair and Balanced" I laughed harder then I have in years! God bless Palin, I needed a good laugh!

Conservatives are their own worst enemy as far as I'm concerned. Their "Tea Parties" that are trying to take over or break the Republican Party will do more harm than good. They think they have a chance this election year.
I don't think Democrats have it easy this year, but there's no way Americans would fall for the Conservative's extreme views. Not outside The South anyway.

I am an independent. Though I do more often lean towards democrats, I prefer not to label myself as 100% either way because I see good points and bad points on either side. I don't tend to look at the parties themselves to help me decide a vote, I look at the person. I actually WAS going to vote for McCain...till he got Palin. At first I was like, "Wow, even a bigger landmark election year, first mixed race candidate and first female vice president candidate!".....and then.....Palin opened her mouth. I knew then McCain must have had a stroke or some other thing to impair his judgment substantially. And I worried, if he made it to the White House and died, she'd be President....Obama was my vote by default simply because of her.

HAHAHAHAHA..... Faux News should seriously be on Comedy Central. I bet Palin chosen to work in Faux News so she can be safe from incoming tomatoes being thrown at her.

That's really funny, because I never thought for one second that he was going to die (that guy is going to live to be 90 at least, mark my words). God, look at how long it took Reagan and that Pope to bite it. The guy looked to me to have been in great shape. And I was shocked to in fact discover he wasn't 60 at most. He's a very youthful and vigorous 78 (or whatever he was during the election).Siren wrote:I am an independent. Anyone got a transcript of that on-hand? I can't hear all the lyrics because the music is SO LOUD!Goliath wrote:And I have always thought this view of the de-volution of American tv news was spot-on:

To be fair, all 24 hour news channels have given up real, objective journalism. Most days there just isn't enough news to go around, to they all resort to speculation, opinions and commentary. All of which (well, perhaps not speculation which can at a pinch be done dispassionately) are simply people "reporting" their views - not facts. Even the once great BBC does this on their 24 hour news channel. Nothing annoys me more than the BBC early in the morning reporting on what's "expected" to be revealed in a government report or inquiry later that day. That's not news - its not even happened yet!Goliath wrote:Forget it... CNN has given up real, objective journalism a loooooong time ago. Journalism is supposed to be about investigation and seeking the truth beyond official statements and PR spin. Sadly, although all these news channels seem to have endless resources to station people anywhere (does having somebody standing outside Downing Street really mean that they get the news quicker and more accurately than somebody in the News room itself?) they don't seem to have the resources to actually do much investigating.
Thankfully the BBC still has a number of news magazine shows such as Panorama where they do investigate issues. Sadly, the BBC News channel is nothing more than regurgitated PR most of the time.

I think for me the only potentially iffy thing about McCain's health would have been his POW past- not the kind of thing he can help. If he had a less... Sarah Palinesque running mate, it would not have made me really think twice about his physical condition. However, he needed to balance out the ticket, and it all went downhill from there, much like Siren said.Lazario wrote:That's really funny, because I never thought for one second that he was going to die (that guy is going to live to be 90 at least, mark my words). Thanks for telling us. I would never have been able to hear them with all the "boo"ing I do whenever that skank Coulter shows up on TV.carolinakid wrote:Nah, it worked fine, thanks for asking!DaveWadding wrote: Did your cable quit working halfway through?![]()

Although I don't think skank (

I don't think skank when I see Ann Coulter either, I think more... praying mantis. Skeletal, irritable, and would probably consume her young. Also, it has the word "praying" in it, to contrast the godless liberals.
EDIT: Here, the similarity is pretty uncanny...
