I like it, too. I'm a bit concerned about the Blu-ray being a Special Edition and the regular DVD is just...regular. But I guess they're not doing 3 different releases (practically barebones DVD, "2"-disc DVD, & Blu-ray) for this movie.

Got to remember, as far as Disney is concerned (other studios release separate DVD editions), the rest of the world gets the first disc from the "2" disc and a BD combo pack.

Its a Special Edition because it comes with a DVD, thats it. You may miss out on some games or a Cine-Explore commentary, but not much else. I wish they'd make a jammed packed Collectors Edition for this film, considering the importance and all (like they did when Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, and Atlantis came out). I've got a bad feeling that it will be Bare Bones like Bolt.
At least the cover art looks great. Way more attractive then Snow White's was.
For some reason Disney's marketing department has no clue what to do with hand drawn characters. Time to fire these people. They've gotten so used to the stock images of CG movies that they've become too lazy to make traditional covers. The floating Facilier and Louis are dreadful. Imagine the evil dogs from Up floating in the sky on the dvd cover.... ew.
^^ The man speaketh the truth! Is there something wrong with hiring people who can actually draw Disney characters on-model (some of which used to dwell on this forum) or even using posters for cover art? I mean, it's a good cover, but it sort of makes the movie look cheap.

Couldn't agree more. It looks like their marketing plan is to use many bright colors to draw the attention of kids.
But hey, why do I complain?! Polish premiere is set for a next week.. there's still so many things they can mess up before BD release, the cover art should be the least of my concerns...
Maybe my eyes are just bad but the characters look design accurate to me.

When I first took the whole thing in, I thought Facilier had legs but focusing on him alone I realized the 'legs' were the willow branches. The cover makers ought to just remove him and Louie off the front cover entirely if they can't display them better than that.
A poster on Blu-ray.com just said that the official release date will be March 16 with a single disc Blu-ray release ($39.99 SRP) and a Blu/DVD/Digi Combo ($44.99 SRP). I don't know whether or not to trust this. I asked for the source, but the OP hasn't replied yet...
What on earth is off-model at all? Someone actually say what looks so wrong. Because to me they look quite on-model. No, they are on-model. Maybe Naveen's nose is too big and round? I dunno, that's the only thing I can think of.

'on-model'. That's the term I was trying to think of when I typed my post. Thanks DD. I'll try to remember that term for later discussions.
I don't see why everybody is all on board with this movie. It looks pretty awful to me. Home On The Range, Chicken Little, or Barnyard level of bad. Aren't they ever going to have another princess in a movie again ?
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.
