Rock 'N' Roller Coaster With The Jonas Brothers?!
There has been some rumors going around that the suits at Disney have decided to update the "Rock 'N' Roller Coaster With Aerosmith" by replacing them with the Jonas Brothers. I do not have any concrete information as to whether or not this is true. However, as of late Aerosmith seems to be having quite a bit of trouble and the Jonas Brothers are currently Disney darlings. So, it would stand to reason that this could actually come about.

They would have to be completely stupid to do this. You just know that there's a scandal around the corner. It's a boyband for crying out loud. Not to mention that one of them is clearly gay. Wich is perfectly fine except that he's so deep in the closet he's probably found Narnia.
That's hardcore rock 'n' roll, alright. I'd probably not wanna be seen standing in line for that ride anymore.

I agree that the controversy would be massive. A well-loved band with a big adult fanbase being replaced by a no-talent band aimed at tween girls who the afore-mentioned fanbase could less about? Yep, that's smart, Disney.
Way to continue the stereotype that "Disney = just for children."
As for one of them being gay, does it matter? No, not really. Their music would still stink regardless of sexual orientation.

I think they're all gay, by the way. That would explain those 'purity' rings.
I voted for Aerosmith. Not that I'm a fan, or even like, Aerosmith. But at least they make real music.

I don't know where this rumor started, but Aerosmith is staying. Didn't they just renew their contract?
There is no "reasoning" for this to come about. It's cheaper for Disney to leave the attraction as is and Aerosmith would continue to make money presumably form their contract deal. Plus it's already very popular.

I too LOL'ed at the Narnia thing, PatrickvD! It's quite clever!Goliath wrote:PatrickvD wrote:They would have to be completely stupid to do this. And when I first heard about the "purity" rings... I really, really thought that they had joined some king of cult or something... It's just creepy!
But, yes, I'm not crazy about Aerosmith either. But they make a hell of a lot more sense in any sort of roller coaster, or anything related to rock and roll, than the Jonas Brothers.

(Of course, to be fair, the ride itself is so short, that you wouldn't have to put up with the "Jo Bros'" music for very long...
Also, does this belong in the Theme Parks discussion category?

My grandpa had a cousin who was married for 20 years and had 3 kids before coming out of the closet. I'm not saying that the Jo Bro is gay. I don't know if he is or not, and I really don't care. But if he's as deeply buried in there as PatrickvD thinks.... then anything can happen.blackcauldron85 wrote: Kevin Jonas just got married. To a woman. So whatever to your previous claims.
(Oh, and who wants to bet that all 3 are going to get married as soon as they can!? Anyone!?

Who cares if they're gay? Yeah may be one of them will come out of the closet for for goodness' sake! Every time a new heartthrob comes along are we gonna call him gay? I don't understand, how many teen celebrities has there been and how many were gay? So let's all stop pretending we know exactly when a young famous boy is in the closet.
Second of all, again, every time somebody new comes along they automatically suck... that just says a lot about the way you view music, not their talent.
But I do agree. Aerosmith should stay, unless they updated the ride every decade or so then it would make sense to change it to the popular band. but I don't even see that happening.

I don't think that's why they say it. But maybe they do. I don't know, I really don't pay attention to the Jonas Brothers, so I don't have any opinion one way or another. No one cares whether they're gay or not (except Kevin's wife, I'm sure), unless they are some sort of homophobe whose music choices are influenced by sexual orientation.
IMO, personally, I think their music is average. It doesn't suck, but it's not wonderful, either. I just find the whole "purity ring" thing a little creepy.

Regarding the actual topic, I wouldn't mind if another band eventually replaces Aerosmith. After all, the actual rollercoaster is still the same. Same track, same wait time, same ride time. All I'd need to do is adjust to the new preshow and ride soundtrack. If it's JoBros, so be it. If it's Cobra Starship, that's even better.
And now moving off-topic (but on-topic somewhat), I actually commend the JoBros for wearing purity rings. It's certainly not a sign that they're gay, it's a sign of their faith and beliefs, and one I share. Sex is for procreation and not recreation, and I'm glad that if the JoBros had to influence their fans in at least one way, it's through the promise of being celibate until marriage.

I don't know.... It seems to me that, in more intelligent species like humans and dolphins, sex can indeed be for recreation. It's only solely for procreation among the less-developed creatures. When human beings treat it that way, like something secretive and "not for enjoyment...." It's just unnatural.Escapay wrote: And now moving off-topic (but on-topic somewhat), I actually commend the JoBros for wearing purity rings. But it's not about more-intelligent creatures versus less-intelligent creatures. And it's not about "let's only have sex to have kids." It's about what you believe sex is. For the JoBros and for me, and for many celibate people, sex is more than just something "fun", and it represents the creation of life rather than the enjoyment of it. Obviously, all biological signs point to sex being something enjoyable. I'm not denying that. As Dr. Cameron said on "House, M.D.":Margos wrote:I don't know.... - "Sex could kill you. Do you know what the human body goes through when you have sex? Pupils dilate, arteries constrict, core temperature rises, heart races, blood pressure skyrockets, respiration becomes rapid and shallow, the brain fires bursts of electrical impulses from nowhere to nowhere and secretions spit out of every gland, and the muscles tense and spasm like you’re lifting three times your body weight. It’s violent, it’s ugly, and it’s messy, and if God hadn’t made it unbelievably fun… the human race would have died out eons ago."
