Deep Discount DVD-anyone used them?
Has anyone here used deepdiscountdvd.com? I would like to order the May 4 releases from them (they list them for 13.80 each) but notice when I get to the screen to fill in my cc info, the secure server key does not appear on my screen. I would really hate to send that kind of info on a server that is not secure?
I would appreciate any responses from those who have used them.

I have used DeepDiscountDVD on numerous occasions. They did mess up one order when they sent me a DVD I hadn't ordered, but they made it right later. The prices are certainly good in most cases and the shipping is free. I can't say I remember noticing whether the sercure server thing was there or not.wdwleesa wrote:Has anyone here used deepdiscountdvd.com? I've probably placed close to 100 orders with DDD in the last 3 years. They are an honest & very reliable company. I don't often get new releases from them as they're usually as cheap or cheaper at Circuit City or any other local B&M store. I get a lot of catalog purchases from them including new releases of older movies that a lot of stores don't carry (& if they do they charge through the nose for them). My only problem with them (& many others have had the same one) is that they say they "ship for the order to arrive on or just after release date". For the first 2 years this was true. It takes about 7-10 days for a media mail delivered dvd to arrive & they almost always shipped them 7 or 8 days before release date so I usually got it a day or 2 after the day it came out. This is a rare occurrence now. Most of the time they ship a day or 2 before release date (& sometimes on or after it) so you get your dvd a week or 2 after it comes out. This is a pretty widespread problem. If you don't mind the little extra wait they're great. I've never had a problem bringing up the secure site though sometimes it is excrutiatingly slow. If you want to place an order & have a problem with it you can call them. I've done it on occasion when the site had problems. 1-800-264-5076 is their number & most of their CRs are quite nice.

We just ordered a dvd from them about 2 weeks ago. It was our first time using them. For free shipping by media mail, it didn't seem that slow, it took right at a week to get the order, so no complaints here. Didn't notice the non-secure server thing when I placed the order, but there was no problem at least. See if your CC company will issue one-time use numbers if submitting your CC number to them is a problem for you.

Like anything else you have to shop, Deep discount DVD is not the end all for DVD prices and neither is Walmart.
Both sources seem to offer some of the best pricing around the internet. Every once in a while Circuit City and Best Buy can get in there and mix it up too !

Overall, I am very pleased with DDDVD. Although, free shipping is sporadic. Sometimes, I receive a DVD purchase in 3-4 days and other times 10-15 days. One time, after 18 days, I didn't receive an order. I called the phone # buffalobill listed and DDDVD UPS 2 day shipped it for me at no charge.
Let's get digital!

I have bought from this company about 5 or 6 times and I haven't been disappointed yet. As far as the shipping time, I may have recieved mine faster because I live closer to the warehouse than some of you. Sure, Walmart may have cheap prices but Walmart doesn't always carry what I am looking for. DDD almost always has everything I want AND at a low price.

Walmart Not So Cheap
Yes the prices are good. I have placed close to $5,000 worth of orders in two years. Shipping is the biggest issue, but it's free, so now worries. BB and CC have low prices on the week of release, however they charge $14.99 - $16.99 + Tax whereas DDDVD is ussually $14.89 - $16.89, no tax. I can wait the 3-7 days it usually takes for them to arrive. A fair value, and they have great prices on older releases too.

I'll definitely be checking them out next time I buy something online... I tend to go to stores more, though, as it makes the purchase that much more satisfying for some reason.

Yes, but you keep your soul in the process...Secret Disney Man wrote:I'm sorry, it could just be me but those prices are NOT DISCOUNTED. I can buy half those movies on the first week from Wal*Mart for a price ranging from $14.99-$40.00(for multi disc sets).
