Films You're Looking Forward to in 2010

Post by Disneykid »

I thought there was a thread on this, but nothing came up in my search. What films coming next year are you looking forward to seeing? Here are mine, ranked in level of anticipation...

If I Don't See This, I'll Die (****)
1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
2. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
3. Tangled
4. Toy Story 3
5. Iron Man 2

I Really Want to See This (***1/2)
6. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
7. Sex and the City 2
8. Tron: Legacy
9. Robin Hood
10. Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang
11. Legend of the Guardians

I'd Like to See This (***)
12. The Resident
13. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
14. Clash of the Titans
15. The Losers
16. The Last Airbender
17. The Green Hornet

This is going to be a special year for me, personally. Three of my favorite books of all time (Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, The Chronicles of Narnia) are being adapted into films, with another that's up there (Grimm's Fairy Tales) also getting a film (Rapunzel). Add to that sequels to films I really enjoy (Toy Story, Iron Man, Sex and the City) and a few others based on source material I enjoy (Percy Jackson, Robin Hood, Sorcerer's Apprentice), and we've got (at least for me) a much more exiciting year than 2009.

So what's everyone else interested in checking out?

Edit: I took out Percy Jackson, Valentine's Day, Shutter Island, and Alice in Wonderland since I've now seen them all.

1. Rapunzel
2. Alice in Wonderland
3. Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue
4. Toy Story 3

Why in that order? Well, the first two, it's level of excitedness I have for the films themselves. For the last two, it's how much the previous film in the series made my mouth water for a sequel (or a third, in both cases). Does the third even count since it's DTV? Well, whatever, I'm counting it anyway!

1. Rapunzel

I really don't go to the movies that often.

I'd probably add Toy Story 3 and Alice In Wonderland to the list.

Toy Story 3 (obivously)
Iron Man 2
Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows Pt 1

Not so sure about The Wolfman. I liked the original 1941 version. I am worried they will screw it up by making the transformation scenes CGI.

I will only see Alice in Wonderland if the ratings are good enough.

I was on Wikipedia's list, and there are a bunch that I hadn't heard of, so I'm sure there will be more that I'll be adding to my Netflix queue when they're out.

I'll definitely see in the theater:
Toy Story 3
Eclipse
Rapunzel

I'll maybe see in the theater, or else I'll Netflix it:
Dear John
Alice in Wonderland
The Last Song
Tron Legacy

I'd like to see, so will probably just Netflix it:
When In Rome
Letters to Juliet
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
(unless it is supposed to be amazing, then I'll see it in the theater if I have money, I guess)
Beastly
Burlesque
(just for Christina Aguilera)

Maybe:
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (the trailer didn't impress me, but maybe when I learn more about it, I'll be more interested)

In random order:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I
Alice in Wonderland
Rapunzel

And that's all I got so far. I might add more, but I really only plan on seeing the first two, whereas Rapunzel is a "mild" interest (I really want to see the first two moreso than the last; which is kind of sad because I'm a Disney fan...).

Hey, Old Fish Tale! This really isn't related, but you're usually pretty good at finding news concerning the Tinker Bell series. Any new developents on the Great Fairy Rescue front?

I plan to find a way to watch How to Train Your Dragon JUST because of Gerard Butler and somewhat for America Ferrera. I love it that the movie comes out on my mom's birthday. Though, if we did see a Gerard Butler movie together for her birthday, we'd see Bounty Hunter, which comes out the week before. *prays for it not to be R* Just told her I'm planning to see it with her ... oh please let her agree.

Let's see, I'll be seeing Iron Man 2 on the opening weekend with my dad; I've known that since we both liked the first one.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'll see anything for my birthday in theaters. The Tooth Fairy looks absolutely terrible (aside from Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal); and I knew the ending of Leap Year the minute I saw the TV spot (as much as I adore Amy Adams, that's a rental); and Spy Next Door ... just boring and stupid, completely meant for cable not theaters. I hate having a birthday in January sometimes.

Harry Potter 7 is a given, but I'm still sad that it'll be the end next year. I think I'll probably cry.

Alice in Wonderland looks so amazing, but I don't know if anyone will see it with me, which makes me really annoyed.

And obvious givens: Rapunzel and Toy Story 3. :]

I'm still tetering with Prince of Persia (Jake Gyllenhaal = awesome) and the next Narnia movie. Hopefully my dad will see them with me.
