Okay I know this has been asked....but I need advice

Post by disneyboy20022 »

I am currently next month looking to buy a PSP......but I am torn on which one...the PSP 3000 bundle or should I get a PSP Go....Here's my thoughts on both

PSP GO - the pros for me list

Its wifi internet

I can go on flash media sites where the other PSP systems can't or I havent had good luck with that in the past....

I don't have to worry aout losing discs or memory sticks and I can take easier than to go online where there is wifi easier than packing my Laptop Computer up and unloading it...such as if I am sick in the hospital it would be easier to operate the PSP GO than draging my laptop computer with me espically if I have IV in my hand or wrist

I can download games and movies and since my house has DSL Wi-Fi it's no problem for me to download the games and pay for them

The Cons of the PSP Go for me

I can't trade in a download if I get sick of the game and I would be doing blind buying stuff and find out that the game I downloaded I don't like and then I can't trade it in or get any money back for it through gamestop or a pawn shop.....

and I am worried about certain games that Might not be on the PSP Go Network...such as the Upcoming Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep that should come out this spring in the USA.......and If there's a chance I won't be able to download it off of the PSP GO and it only be a UMD title I would hands down not get the PSP GO and get a PSP 3000 bundle possibly the New Assasins Creed Bloodlines......

and my one of my other fears is.....what happens if the PSP GO's are discontinued...will the service still be there for the PSP Go's or if Sony goes another way and quits making it and supporting...I am stuck with a PSP Go that really doesn't Go and an old Gameboy Advance would be more value than that if that were to Happen

What SHould I DO???

Easy, stick with the PSP 3000. The PSP Go sounds like a great idea on paper, but the lack of an UMD drive and its reliance of digital downloads make it an expensive novelty than a necessity.

Like you already stated, the PSP 3000 can do many of the things the PSP Go does at a much more affordable price.

I see. You should be set with the PSP Go, then.

But to me it feels like too much of a risky investment. Its cons are far too strong and overshadow the pros, and like you said, there's the risk of some major games being released only on UMD.

I still recommend the PSP 300 over the PSP Go because it already has the features seen on the Go, its cheaper and you choose how you want to play your games (either via download or owning the UMD).

One thing to consider to is battery life. Sony is so freaking dumb for including a disc drive on a handheld gaming device, knowing full well that it causes load times and massive battery drainage by the laser and disc spinning device. They should've stuck with cartridges like Nintendo did, which I still think is better then downloads, but the PSPGo sounds like the better option IMO. I like the design and lager screen of the PSP-3000 more but the UMD drive just isn't worth it (just one more thing to break too).

Personally, I don't own or plan on owning any Sony devices but if you're getting a PSP, go with GO, simply for game access ease and longer battery life. The only down side is Sony is stiffing people as they've admitted the PSPGo uses less parts and costs less to manufacture then the PSP-3000, yet they charge more (one of the reasons I don't like Sony).

I might get a get both...although I might get the PSP 3000 used on ebay somewhere.....depends what type of deal and condition its in.....and all of that

and I might get either one or the other this month and then next month I should be getting som extra money for an early birthday gift or something even though my birthdays in March :P and I'll get one and then decide on whether I want to get the second whichever one I get first because I do have some money saved up that i've been working on....like Im thinking i'll get PSP 3000 for the games that have UMDs and are cheaper to play on and the PSP Go for my travels if I have to go in the hospital and they have wifi plus it has Flash capabilites which I don't think the other psps in my experience had that or it didn't work well.....I could go on disney movie rewards website while im sick rather than dragging my laptop every where and the 16 GB does sound interesting......I know you can get a memory card for the 3000 but I tend to always misplace my games or my memory sticks or when I do find them I already replaced them and with the PSP Go I wouldn't have to carry several games with me......

so I just bid on on a PSP Go and a PSP 3000 and if I win both for the price I have on them its a good deal....and if I only win one of them I will then accept the one I won and I will play that one and wait a month for the other PSP.....and I figure IF I don't like it at all..im sure I can put it right back on ebay....the PSP Go if I Win it...

If I had to choose I'd go with a PSP 3000. The Go just isn't worth the extra price for me, plus I like having physical copies of my games. However if you have never owned a PSP the Go may be a good ideal. At this time I really wouldn't recommend anyone that owns a PSP to "upgrade" to the Go.
