I own the Disney Original Soundtrack series of "A Bug's Life, which I had a lot of trouble finding. I found it one year ago at the Virgin Megastore in L.A. It was located where the Schwan's Pharmacy that inspired "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" used to be. They also had "The Nightmare Before Christmas" there. I am not sure about the others. I suggest you try your nearest Virgin Megastore, but it would be cheaper to order them online and at the same time to save on shipping.
I'm currently watching and reviewing every Disney film in chronological order. You can follow along at my blog, The Disney Films, and also follow me on Twitter.

Best bet is to try Amazon Marketplace or eBay. Finding those older soundtracks at brick-and-mortar stores would be pretty difficult, I think. Unless a store can special-order them for you, you'll likely find copies only by chance... unless it's a huge place that deals exclusively in music, with a large soundtrack selection - you're better off searching the net, imo.

Of course, there's always eBay and half.com. Best Buy always has a lot of Disney soundtracks as well.

I was going to say the exact same thing.
Also look for it at Amazon!
Try also Wal-Mart, Target or the Mall.

If you have a local mall check all the electronic stores like Borders or Fry's.

Oh, and if you are gonna go through any of those online stores, be sure you use a link from this site, as it helps Luke out w/ supporting the site. :)

I remember going to the store for the Hocus Pocus soundtrack a few years after its release, and I was told they were limited issue/OOP. I was so disappointed :(. Why they made that decision, I don't understand, as it is a borderline musical. I'd love to have the soundtrack, but not for a fortune.

I'd like to see didney re-release hocus pocus. hopefully theatrically as well(i doubt it) but atleast on dvd as a special edition. the soundtrack was only made for promtional use. i'd like to get one that disney will amke for the public, including "i put a spell on you" by bette midler and "sarah's theme" by sarah jessica parker. neither were included on the soundtrack

Does anyone know how well the first DVD release of Hocus Pocus has sold? Just from talking to people, it seems to be a very popular film among families. I would think that Disney would benefit from a special edition release, and a soundtrack to accompany it. It just had its 10 year anniversary, though, so I dunno.

Upcoming soundtracks

Post by disneywb »

So, will the advanced platinum release schedule translate into soundtrack rereleases for Bambi, Cinderella, etc?
That would be great, but I haven't heard anything of a Bambi soundtrack rerelease coming up...

I purchased the Bambi soundtrack at Disneyland...

But I know most of you can't afford to travel aaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way to Anaheim for a simple CD. So best bet? Amazon.com and also try TowerRecords.com

I seriously doubt you'll find any of the titles in the first post at Wal-mart or Target. They don't keep older CDs in stock (and Wal-Mart's CDs are always horribly disorganized too).

I would suggest checking stores that sell 2nd-hand CDs -- I've bought quite a few OOP Disney soundtracks at CD Warehouse. And you can click here to see if there's a location near you.

Best Buy also has several Disney soundtracks in stock -- their Disney classics soundtracks are re-releases, but they're value priced. They currently have a remastered soundtrack release for "Bambi" (and it has bonus tracks!). They also have A Bug's Life, both Toy Story 1 & 2 soundtracks, and The Nightmare Before Christmas too.

I don't know about the Disney soundtrack "and so on" -- I've never heard of that movie. :P

My fiance bought me the soundtrack for "Nightmare Before Christmas" for Christmas through amazon.com, so they for sure have that one.

Another option is check ebay.com regularly to see if any of those CD titles come up for bid.
