I watched this yesterday as a matter of fact. Nothing new, as per usual. O'Reilly is really creative. Every person he doesn't approve of (in typical Straight White Male fashion he has the superego to think he is important enough to be King Authority when judging everyone), he brands "Far Left."
That's it. Really... It (any integrity the man, his program, or this supposed "news" channel might be mistaken to have) disintegrates from there. Not even I am stupid enough to just label someone "Far Right" and walk away.
The one thing I would love to see pounced on, the one thing that I went "AH HA!" at is the moment when he mentions Catholicism. "Most immigrants are Catholic." Is that so? So the thing that makes you give them the benefit of the doubt as human beings is their religion? In America: we are meant to have FREEDOM of choice for things like religion. Why do we put up with this guy telling us one religion is superior to another? If your show is supposed to be about politics - don't push a religious agenda. Got it? Separation of Church & State is one of the only things that allows the people of this nation to labor under the illusion we're still somehow free. And if we let religion control the majority opinion, we can't truly be a nation for other lesser nations to look up to (by that: I'm only referencing the opinion many people out there have that all other nations are inferior to us). Just
more proof that O'Reilly is an elitist.
Lastly... if you watch the clip of Law & Order, you can clearly see Ice-T isn't buying what Larroquette's character is saying. And I sincerely doubt that T's character is supposed to represent the minority in this case. Most people hate being preached to, T even tosses the comments off as "soapbox"ing. He's supposed to be one of the good guys. Didn't Mr. O'Reilly even bother to consider context? (
