The Disney Movie Rewards Discussion & Info Thread Vol.2
Any suggestions on what I should get with my nearly 2,000 points? Other than the movies is there anything on here worth getting at around this price range? The apple maybe? I know that the figurines would be nice but I'm not anywhere near the 3,000+ needed to get one. There are a bunch of movies I wouldn't mind getting, see list below, but which ones are good and would they be better than the apple or is there something else I'm missing?
Looking at the following movies:
A Tiger Walks
Condorman
Follow Me Boys
Kidnapped
Little Dog Lost/Stub Combo
Monkey's Uncle/Moon Pilot Combo
Rob Roy
The Bluegrass Special
The Boy Who Flew With Condors
The Fighting Prince of Donegal
The Horse Without a Head
The Silver Skates
The Story of Robin Hood
Treasure of Metacumbe
I loved Yellowstone Cubs and enjoyed So Dear to My Heart and I'm probably more interested in Walt's movies especially the yellow Wonderful World of Disney Collection. As you can probably tell, I need help. If you had 2,000 points what would you buy or save up for? Thanks in advance for the help.

Out of the movies you listed Monkey's Uncle would be the only one i'd get. a few of them you can buy on sale at Best Buy for $6-$8 or even deepdiscount.com I wouldnt waste points on those
(Follow Me Boys, Kidnapped, The Bluegrass Special, The Silver Skates, The Story of Robin Hood, Treasure of Metacumbe)

Disney Movie Rewards
Gurgi30:
It's true, you might be able to find some of these titles for relatively low prices at Best Buy or an online reseller, but if no other Reward categories interest you, then redeeming points for these movies beats shelling out $ for them.
A Tiger Walks - light suspense/drama with Brian Keith and Pamela Franklin
Condorman - I've not seen this
Follow Me Boys - a personal favorite, warm Disney drama
Kidnapped - well-made adaptation of classic novel, historic action, easier to follow the more times you watch it!
Little Dog Lost/Stub Combo - I've not seen LDL / Stubs is Disney comedy
Monkey's Uncle/Moon Pilot Combo - MU is a sequel / MP is light 1960s Disney comedy
Rob Roy - historical action
The Bluegrass Special - entertaining drama, starring Celeste Holme
The Boy Who Flew With Condors - 1970s TV documentary/story
The Fighting Prince of Donegal - historical action
The Horse Without a Head - filmed in France, kids find themselves in the middle of a heist, female lead: Pamela Franklin
The Silver Skates - filmed in the Netherlands, Walt's TV era
The Story of Robin Hood - Leonard Maltin says this is a very good version of RH
Treasure of Metacumbe - 1970s adventure, this had been on my "Disney, please release this" wish list
I love vintage Disney live-action movies, and own all the above but Condorman and Little Lost Dog (I'd like to get LDL sometime.). So Dear to My Heart ranks 1st on my Disney favorites list, and Follow Me, Boys! follows close behind. You didn't mention Big Red. Unless you already own this, I recommend this title, too -- this is also high up on my favorites list.

FREE CODES!
Okay, so since I'm too nice to intrude on my friends and ask them to set-up Disney Movie Rewards accounts, I went to the effort to create 10 fake e-mail addresses for the 200 points from refer-a-friend, with how fast and easy it is to make an e-mail account today (scarily fast, actually) it took me less than a half hour.
I set up two accounts in July and the rest yesterday. The July accounts never got the message yesterday's did, which was a free 25 points for signing up. I used one in my actual account and it worked, citing it as 'Welcome'. The others do not work, telling me I used the code already.
I guess these free 25 points must be a new thing, since the July accounts didn't get them and I'd never redeemed it before. So, here's the other 25 point codes, up for grabs. If you have an older account, you may never have used the 'Welcome' bonus yet!

They all are used lol. hmm, I guess send them an email you want to cancel your account.Neal wrote:No problem! I wonder when/why they decided to start giving them out.
Perhaps you could post which you used, so people know?
And any idea how to cancel an account? Now that I have my 20 bonus points - I'd like to cancel the fake accounts, any idea if that would void the points on my actual account?
Hrm.. my Pinocchio Blu-ray code was not doubled when I tried so hopefully they'll give me an extra 125 points. Who knows.
I'm so close to the Princess and the Frog signed poster.. only 200 more points. Afraid I won't be able to even get enough points though until next February. DX
If anyone could spare me one code, I'd be able to repay you with another in the very beginning of next year with one of equal value if you'd like.
If you can help out, please PM me. Thank you.

Yes, the filmmaker and animators signed one.Neal wrote:The doubling was yesterday, and the poster signed by "Tiana" and "Naveen" is sold out - are you angling for the filmmaker signed one?
I just want to hurry before a similar fate happens to this poster too.
And I ask for one code because anything would be greatly appreciated, such as the welcome code that you offered before! Thank you!

Ok, I'm stuck between getting the Up backpack, adventure book, or saving up for the 24 karat Mary Poppins sculpture. I have almost 1,400 pts (enough to get the book + the backpack). Any suggestions? Oh, and Just.A.Friend., I think I might be able to dig out my lost WALL-E code, it was hard to keep the insert in such a flimsy case. I'll try, but probably won't find it, since I am HORRIBLE at finding lost things.
Hmm, I want the backpack, too but if I'm getting anything right now - it'd be the tPatF tarot cards. I'd say save up, the statue isn't going anywhere fast since it costs a lot. I'd just hate for it to be gone when you get there.
I also really want the "Frank and Ollie" DVD.
Right now, I'm waiting to see if the poster comes back or if they put up a non-signed one. I have 1,255 points. I was 260 two weeks ago, I went on a spree and racked up fast!
Also, I'm out of any points to offer, Just.A.Friend - all I have left are two Ponyo ticket stubs.
For Christmas, I'll have more points, since I asked for Tink 2, Up, and Snow all on Blu-ray - but by then you're sure to have your points! Sorry!

To Just.A.Friend, I would've PM'd this, but I want to save a PM for Luke and just write it here. G-Force goes on sale next week at Target and you can get the blu-ray for only $5 which is 125 points. That's what I would go for if I needed points.
I would not get the book! In the movie, it is not spiral-bound. If you are looking for it to be an exact replica like me, this is not good enough.
I can't form an opinion about the statue.
Since we're all asking for help, should I save up my points and get the Disney stock?
I'm still a stock newbie and have no idea whether it is a good idea to get it from DMR for free...or get an Up backpack.
I really want to get the Up backpack as well! It's just the size of it that makes it a turn off. It's smaller than a regular carry backpack, but those are bigger than my books. If the Up bag is smaller, maybe it'll be JUST big enough to hold textbooks. But the other side of it, if you're going on a trip with your friends, you can totally show it off!SmartAleck25 wrote:Ok, I'm stuck between getting the Up backpack, adventure book, or saving up for the 24 karat Mary Poppins sculpture. It is available on Amazon.com for $26. If you are willing to spend that much, I would say save your points for something exclusive only to DMR.Neal wrote:I also really want the "Frank and Ollie" DVD.
