read that article...here is the part I like that I agree with very much:

In “Two and a Half Men” trailers, Frosty chats up his pals with subjects ranging from orgies, STDs sexy grandmas and tips on how to slow yourself down when you’re having sex.

The tagline to the trailers is “Some things are better left untouched.”

No kidding. Yes, the trailers are funny, in a “South Park”-this-feels-so-wrong way. But it’s not going to be amusing when some fourth-grader Googling Frosty gets schooled on everything from porn to prostitutes. That these Web trailers are sanctioned by CBS is incomprehensible. When contacted, CBS said they “respectfully decline to comment.”

And how is it that Adam Lambert’s guy-smooch onstage at the Grammy Awards on ABC was the kiss condemned ’round the world, but CBS turning a cartoon into a skeevy horndog is met with silence. We can’t handle a gay kiss, but can handle a snowman talking about crabs? What the Frosty?

I love the "How I Met Your Mother" one, even if it just proves that someone at CBS had too much time on their hands and yet not enough time to consider the backlash...

I say "lighten up". This is no worse than any of the crap they play on South Park - in fact it's safer and funnier if you ask me - and it's just as accessible for little kids as the South Park stuff. The problem isn't what's out there for kids to see, the problem is the parents who let their kids run wild on the Internet with no safety or supervision. Be a responsible parent, watch what your kids are doing. Install parenting software if you don't want to always be looking over their shoulders. Keep the computers in a room with less privacy, and never give Internet access to kids with computers in their rooms.

The HIMYM one is really hilarious. I love how they do the series of shots for women Barney has slept with.

The "Two and a Half Men" one offends me, but that's only because the show itself is so unfunny it offends me.

I respectfully disagree. Just because South Park et al is in the gutter, it doesn't mean beloved icons like Frosty should be placed there too! Can nothing that is intended to be innocent and beloved for being innocent just stay that way? Does "hip", "edgy", and "irreverent" have to take over everything?

You do make a good point about parents monitoring what their kids watch. I don't have children but I fiercely protect the innocence of the inner child that still lives inside of me, so therefore I won't be watching these clips! For me it's not about protecting children as much as it is about protecting what Frosty is intended to represent for the child in all of us!

Another lesson to be learned here is the importance of protecting the copyright of beloved characters after one creates them. That way, if anyone tries to turn your beloved icon of innocence into something "adult", PG-13, or R-rated, the creators could take them to court with a lawsuit and get the last laugh!

PS. The irony is many consider Frosty and such to be "kiddie", but the timelessness of these shows in their original format is FAR more mature than the immature smut that passes off as the "adult" interpretations!

PPS. Surely there would be outrage if there were clips of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy talking like this and Disney allowed it to happen to promote ABC programming.
