(They didn't give a source, and it's ironic because sometimes on the site they'll mention about giving them credit or whatever...)Recently Elton John, the man behind the award-winning soundtrack for The Lion King has had nothing but praise for the music in Disney’s The Princess And The Frog: “Randy Newman is, for me, an American treasure…. One of my favorite writers of all time, before he started writing for God knows how many animation movies with Pixar and Disney. This could be one of the best Disney scores ever, because I think he’s fantastic.”

God, I really hope it's February 3. I still have not seen the trailer so I still have to make sure. Maybe April 3 is the home video release?MerXAN wrote:Are you sure? I'm from the Philippines too but I believe It'll be released on February 3. April 3 seems WAY too long.rj.disney wrote:NOOOOOO!!!!

It was my brother who saw the trailer first and me and my sister would not believe him because April is way too long. Then, my sister told me that she just saw the trailer and confirmed what my brother saw.
Gosh, I hope they are just praying pranks at me, but they were serious when they were telling me that.

Well, he said exactly that on camera in the "Dreams Come True" special on Friday. I would think that's as good a source there is.blackcauldron85 wrote: tommy2.net(They didn't give a source, and it's ironic because sometimes on the site they'll mention about giving them credit or whatever...)Recently Elton John, the man behind the award-winning soundtrack for The Lion King has had nothing but praise for the music in Disney’s The Princess And The Frog: “Randy Newman is, for me, an American treasure…. Elton John had not really appeared in any Disney specials besides The Lion King for quite some time. Could his appearance in this new special signify a new business deal between him and Disney? Perhaps it could mean the resurrection of long-awaited and postponed CGI flick Gnomeo and Juliet that was supposed to be released under the Miramax banner. What do you think?

Time Magazine revealed the top ten films of 2009 and The Princess and the Frog was #1!
http://www.time.com/time/specials/packa ... 15,00.html
Here's what Richard Corliss wrote about it:
http://www.time.com/time/specials/packa ... 15,00.html
Here's what Richard Corliss wrote about it:
Animation is thought of as a cash cow for the studios and a niche category for the Oscars. Yet a straight-faced argument could be made — and is, here — that 2009 boasted a richer crop of animated features than of live-action movies. We acknowledge the cartoonucopia with our top three selections, each in a different format. Hand-drawn (or 2-D) animation was left for dead in the CGI stampede, but this instant classic showed there's plenty of life, fun and heart in the old style. Tweaking the fable of the frog princess and setting it in 1920s New Orleans, directors John Musker and Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) created a bayou full of winning characters, all bearing a wondrous comic elasticity. In time-honored Disney fashion, the movie offers a princess in the making, wishes made upon a star, the death of a major character and some well-earned tears to salt the spectator's smiles. For those who thought that 2-D had become the sole preserve of Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki (who returned to form with his sea fable, Ponyo), Musker and Clements proved that the number of dimensions don't matter; it's the animating spirit you bring to them.

I was pretty upset when I found out Rey has to work the night of the premier. I didn't want to go by myself and I didn't want to wait either.
Luckily we thought to look and see if there were any midnight premiers in the area, and there are! So we'll be heading out Thursday night to see the first show!!!
Will anyone else be venturing forth on Thursday night instead of Friday?

Yesterday (Tuesday) was "Küss den Frosch"'s (German title of PatF) premiere in Austria and a good university friend and me went to watch it. Unfortunately I only saw the German dubbing, I would've loved to watch the "original" version - but well, I won't complain
I liked it a lot, it was a nice, charming movie and in the end I even cried. I agree with PrincePhillipFan, Ray was a lot more appealing in the movie than he was in the trailer. Facilier was a good villain, not my favourite so far, but good all in all - though I didn't like him as a character so much, I loved his song (although the German dubbing's not so good like the English one... the English one's got so many lines I love). Charlotte's great (soooo over-the-top, so spoiled, and so funny!), as was Louis - and Mama Odie
I think the animation was great, but I don't really know much about it.
And I saw Andreas Deja, which was great, he was at the premiere party that was held afterwards.
ATTENTION! SPOILERS IN THE QUOTE.

The man who's hair grew all over him because Facilier bewitched him was hilarious
The animation in the "almost there"-scene is great, it looks so different from the rest of the movie, so stylized and everything... wow. I loved how the light retreated in the end of the song and just stayed on Tiana and her mum a little bit longer... And that one of the staircases' pillars broke down just when they left the building
The "Friends on the other side"-scene is one of my favorites. It sent chills down my spine.
In one scene Louis looked exactly like Madam Mim!
Ray and his Evangeline are the cutest pair in the whole movie, I think, and you don't realise it until the end, when Ray also appears as a star...
Facilier's face on his gravestone is... a mix between creepy ('cause I, at least, didn't expect it to be there and was taken aback a little) and funny - just weird.
Naveen's father is just such a macho! (The victorious hand gesture he gave his son when he married Tiana!)
And Charlotte dancing with Naveen's young brother![]()

Does "Küss den Frosch"'s suppose to translate as "Kiss the Frog" in english? That would've made a much funnier and clever title than PATFebilein wrote:Yesterday (Tuesday) was "Küss den Frosch"'s (German title of PatF) premiere in Austria and a good university friend and me went to watch it. Do you live in Vienna? I saw PatF OV in the Artis International in the Innere Stadt in Vienna yesterday. It was amazing!
