Toy Story 1 & 2 on Blu-Ray OUT NOW!!!
So it looks like Toy Story 1 & 2 will be on Blu-Ray early 2010. I got this from the thedigitalbits.com. I say we will see these movies in March the same day as Beauty and the Beast!

Not gonna hold my breathe on this. Sure thedigitalbits is one of the best sites for this kind of info, but Disney is way too unpredictable when it comes to these sorts of things. I'm thinking it'll end up being mid- November as a trilogy giftset. But hopefully we might get one of the remaining Pixar titles on Blu-ray sometime in the April/ May timeframe before TS3 opens.

Re: Toy Story 1 & 2 on Blu-Ray Ealry 2010!
Beauty and the Beast isn't coming out until Fall 2010, according to another thread on this site. If anything, the Toy Story films would be released on June 1 or June 8 in order to meet with the release date for Toy Story 3.MICKEYMOUSE wrote:So it looks like Toy Story 1 & 2 will be on Blu-Ray early 2010. Or what they might do is sell them individually at first, and then repackage all three together in some sort of special collectors edition box, and people will buy them twice.magicalwands wrote:How exciting! But for sure, if they release 1 and 2 before 3, it will be very tough to not wait for the trilogy set!

Well, for Pirates, they just took all three movies and put them in a box. I'm pretty sure Disney will do that for Toy Story. So, you'll get an empty, but pretty, box. Now that I think about it, I would want Toy Story 3 next to Up rather than the other two Toy Storys. Oh the anal retentiveness in us collector's!rexcrk wrote:I just hope they make them individual releases, I like having my Pixar Blu-rays in order of when they were released.

I put mine in chronological order too, magicalwands!
I have "a bug's life" between the two Toy Stories LOL! So, the third one will surely go after Up....

I will agree with the above posters I like everything in one, standard, uniform order. I usually put my spines in the order in which they come out NOW - for instance I never really had a indepth DVD collection so I am starting fresh on Blu Ray.
I now place them in the order in which they are released on Blu Ray, it makes sense to me because then I remember which order I got the films in, and pick them up accordingly.
I really want Toy Story 1 & 2 on Blu...every single Pixar movie has been amazing, and these are their shining stars in their line up.

Organizing your collection like that may be nice now, but I think it's a pain to find a title when you have about a hundred of them.CampbellzSoup wrote:I will agree with the above posters I like everything in one, standard, uniform order. I too keep my Disney collection organized chronologically. I even took the regular dvds out of the Snow White Platinum giftset and the Fantasia Anthology to make it look better. I would do the same for the Ultimate Toy Box but those covers don't look very good outside of the box, those have very generic covers. Of course that will change when they're released on Blu-ray.

Even if this is true, I'd wait til Toy Story 3 was out because then you could get a complete set of the movies.
I'd probably buy them anyway, though if they had Digital copies, I already have ones I bought in iPod format.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Always, always organize your collection alphabetically, it's the only proper way. And you all consider yourself OCD/ anal retentive...

I'm hoping that we will finally get Toy Story 1&2 in their theatrical aspect ratios of 1.85:1, as I believe they've only been released in all their DVD releases in the 1.77:1 ratio. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

You don't make the film fill your TV, be it 4:3 or 16:9, you make your TV fit the original ratio of the film. If that means a letterboxing or pillarboxing of a film, so be it.

I arrange mine alphabetically by the studio that released the DVD with some exceptions. For example, I put Anchor Bay DVD for Supergirl next to the Superman boxset from Warner, and my Artisan & Lionsgate DVDs are chronological together instead of separate since Lionsgate acquired Artisan. And within the studio, I organize them chronologically by release date. And within the release dates, I organize them alphabetically.AlwaysOAR wrote:Always, always organize your collection alphabetically, it's the only proper way.
