Favorite Silly Symphonies

Post by Trumpet Joe »

Feel free to merge this thread if there's already another like it. But anyway, what are some of your favorite Silly Symphonies? I love them all, but my two favorites are probably 'Mother Goose Goes Hollywood' and 'Lullaby Land'.

my favorite of all is "the old mill" but i do like them all. personally i think "the three little pigs" is overrated. i like the cartoon a lot but it's not the best. "water babies", "wynken, blynken, and nod" "the ugly duckling" (color), merbabies", and "little hiawatha" are also among my favorites.

The Three Little Pigs and The Old Mill are fantastic (in my opinion), but when I was younger, I was always partial to The Skeleton Dance. I guess it's because I always got a kick out of skeletons as a child.

Elmer Elephant has to be my favorite- I grew up with it and have always really enjoyed it.

I haven't seen a lot of the Silly Symphones, but out of the ones I've seen, runners up are The Three Little Pigs, The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Tortoise and the Hare, Broken Toys, Little Hiawatha, and The Old Mill.

My wife digs Flowers and Trees - a lot. She claps and bounces in her chair whenever its on.

She's awesome. Gotta go with F&T for the win.

Good question! I pretty much like all of the Silly Symphonies, but my favorites would have to be ....

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod
Funny Little Bunnies
The Skeleton Dance
Old King Cole
Lullaby Land

I can't leave out The Wise Little Hen, either. It's a good short and also marked the debut of a character we came to know and love as Donald F. Duck.

I love them all.... but on a short list:
"The Goddess of Spring"
"The Cookie Carnival"
"Elmer Elephant"
"The Old Mill"
"Music Land"
"Farmyard Symphony"
And probably some others that I'll kick myself for not thinking of immediately!
