...what's with this July 29 business? I see conflicting dates on websites for Mickey's Birthday, some say July 29 1938, some say November 18, 2008.

Hmmm.... think it has anything to do with discrepancies between considering his debut as "Plane Crazy" or "Steamboat Willie?"

November 18, 1928 is when "Steamboat Willie" was first shown in theatres, thus becoming Mickey's birthday, though some say it should be May 15, 1928, since that's when "Plane Crazy" (the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, but without sound at the time) was shown in theatres. But the rest of the world pretty much agree that November 18 is the true birthday.
