For once I'm happy that they are cheap sob's.ajmrowland wrote:Yeah, I'm sure that Disney would not spend money to alter the DVD disc in the combo in any way.

No worries. I was confused by it too. I don't know why Disney can't list what's on the DVDs in these combos. On UD's review:buffalobill wrote:Thanks Barbossa. I know I'll be getting a bd player if just for upconverting eventually. And with the $10 coupon the 4 disc blu ray is cheaper than the 2 disc deluxe. Since the features (shorts & deleted scene & 22 minute featurette & commentary) are in it I'd be a fool not to buy the combo. I appreciate your advice.
I don't have Blu equipment yet either so the Blu will be collecting dust for a little while longer....and a Blu-ray combo which includes the deluxe DVD and digital copy.
The DVD in the Combo Pack contains the movie, "Adventure is Out There" Documentary, the two shorts, and the Commentary from the director and Bob Peterson.buffalobill wrote:IF I buy the 4 disc blu ray combo pack of UP do I lose anything playable on a standard dvd player? In other words, do I still get the 2 shorts and the 22 minute feature on the digital copy disc that are playable without a blu ray player.
yeah...Target wouldn't price match Up either because they had the Target Adventure book and they woulnd't do the $18.99 Monsters Inc for some stupid reason I can't remember....and they wrang up all 3 coupons but they said the sticker on the box woudln't work....and they tried it and they a message popped up saying there were too many coupons so it wouldn't accept the one on the package...so they were $26.99 each minus $28 With the three coupons - It was $28.99 and I didn't feel like going to look for a better deal so....oh well...so much for $15 total...Just Myself wrote:Went to two different Targets..... The first was a Super Target and they did not have Monsters Inc. Some guy claimed that the entire Orlando area Target stores did not get Monsters Inc. (to which I responded "Yeah, right. You're just saying that because your store didn't stock enough to meet demand. AGAIN."). So, I went to my local Target store and they had both items... However, they wouldn't price match because they said the Best Buy Blu-ray didn't come with the Adventure Book and that was a Target Exclusive.

Oh well, all said and done it was $21.57 for both Blu-ray packages. I have no use for the DVD's / digital copies, so I'll just sell those at F.Y.E.
Cheers,
JM
This is what bugs me with the Blu/DVD combos. They say Disc 2 (or 3) is the DVD of the film, but they don't list what DVD bonus features are included. The same thing happened with DisneyNature's earth back in September. Wasn't sure which one to buy until I found out the same DVD was included in the combo, including the making-of featurette.Matt wrote:The DVD doesn't say Deluxe Edition on it. hmmmm.
What about the alternate scene: The Many Endings of Muntz? I know it's only a 5 minute feature but I was just wondering if you lose that for sd dvd when you buy the bd combo pack? Barbossa is right in that Disney should list the dvd features on the combo pack.magicalwands wrote:The DVD in the Combo Pack contains the movie, "Adventure is Out There" Documentary, the two shorts, and the Commentary from the director and Bob Peterson.buffalobill wrote:IF I buy the 4 disc blu ray combo pack of UP do I lose anything playable on a standard dvd player? Hey if you have not opened the Blu-Ray yet, I advise you to return it and go back get the BEST DEAL possible. I am getting sick of the huge corporations taking advantage of the consumer!!slave2moonlight wrote:Well, I got Up today at Best Buy because I had preordered it there to get the steelbook case. I tried to get it with Monsters, Inc., thinking I could get ten dollars off for buying them together, plus use at least one if not two of the online coupons. However, they wouldn't let me use the coupons AND get the ten dollar deal for buying them together (didn't think they would, they're sticklers in my area), so I ended up just buying "Up" with the coupon. It came out to 7 something, on top of the 7 something to preorder. Still, not bad for a blu-ray. I am strapped for cash right now, so I'll probably just wait on Monsters, Inc. I still need to get most of the PIXAR Blus because I already have them on standard and since I have a PS3 but no HDTV yet, I can get buy with the standards for now. I just don't want them to go into the vault or anything before I snag them. So far, I only have Wall-E and "Up" on blu from PIXAR (have all their others on standard, including the old collector's edition of A Bug's Life and the Ultimate Toy Box).
I don't know, I never really kept track because I always bought them the first day they came out. It's only now that they're coming out on blu-ray that I haven't been ready to rebuy yet (since blu-rays are pricey, I haven't done much double dipping yet because I don't even have an HDTV to appreciate the difference yet).Barbossa wrote:Do any of the Pixar movies go into the vault anymore? Well, I could say there are no local, competent managers, or I could say they are so competent that they know the fine print well enough. They pointed to the old line on the coupon about not using it with any other offer, which I have heard a million times around here. I don't know how it is in other areas, but where I live, they always point that out right away and it is the law of the land that you can't get around. As for price matching, many places here won't do it, but particularly not with their own online sales. They consider the online deals totally separate from the in-store deals. Circuit City was particularly bad about that, so I wasn't all that sad to see them go (except for the loss in competition for other stores).MICKEYMOUSE wrote:Hey if you have not opened the Blu-Ray yet, I advise you to return it and go back get the BEST DEAL possible. 1. You had every right to use BOTH coupons from the on-line Print outs.
2. Best Buy on-line has the Blu-Ray for $19.99
3. Even if you pre-orders that does not mean anything, YOU STILL SPENT MONEY on it!!
Here is my break down on my BEST BUY DEAL today...(I know others got some better deals, but I think I got a great deal)
1. Price match on-line (BESTBUY.com $19.99), and use $10.00 off COUPON....$9.99 Before tax.
2. Then Monster's Inc drops down to $18.99 if you buy UP together, BEST BUY has it on their Ad!! So they can not say no...use $8.00 off which brings it to $10.99
$10.99 + $9.99 = $19.99 before tax, all together with tax ($3.70) I spent $23.68, so about $12.00 each on Blu-Ray!!!
**Note even if you did opened go back, and talk to a manager or someone competent.
THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE TAKE ADVANTAGE of COUPONS esp. in this recession!!
What state are you from, and if you really want it (I knnow you said you are low on cash), go to another Best Buy, or buy them at Target!! Does not matter if you have the Steel case already. It is their loss for not making the customer happy! Take you business and money eleswhere!!slave2moonlight wrote:Well, I could say there are no local, competent managers, or I could say they are so competent that they know the fine print well enough. Online, it seems easier to use coupons and such, but I can't shop online because I don't have a credit card (and don't plan on getting one).
And I know that preordering still involves paying, but breaking up the payment was actually helpful to me. Like I said, I am low on cash this week, so it was nice to only pay 7 something, even if I already had paid about the same amount. I at least have enough left to take advantage of the current Toys R Us DVD sale, which has several titles 2 for 20, including some Disney double features I want. With the little bit of cash I have left combined with a gift card I recently got, I hopefull can get both the Inspector Gadget double feature and the Honey sequels double feature tomorrow... (looks at clock) tonight, rather.
Incidentally, I can't use PM's here at U.D.
You sound like the perfect candidate for a debit card. You can't go into debt if you use one. They just won't make the sale if you don't have enough money.slave2moonlight wrote: Online, it seems easier to use coupons and such, but I can't shop online because I don't have a credit card (and don't plan on getting one).
There is. Go to Best Buy where Up is $23.99. When you purchase Up with Monster's Inc., they take $10 off making Monster's Inc. $18.99. Then use the $10 coupon on Up making it $13.99 and the $8 coupon on Monster's Inc. making it $10.99.enigmawing wrote: There has to be an easier way to get a good deal . . .
