DVD'S

Post by Disney Guru »

Just wait for them to be released commercially released!

The market is flooded with Fake DVD's1

For instance at this time their are about 50 bootleg copies of Song Of The SOuth on DVD Available! And their are about 20 websites I know of that sells bootlegs!

So stay away from bootlegs!

My $.02:

I would leave NEUTRAL feedback.

Say something like, "Excellent service, but product was DVD-R not original as advertised".

If I was you I would leave negative feedback.
To warn other buyers that this seller sells bootlegs.
I would also make a report to E-bay on him.
This seller will keep selling bootlegs to other people and that's not fair.

I think it does not matter if the bootlegs were good or not. Bottom-line is the SELLER lied. He told you they were authentic
He could've just said they are really good fakes ... only that would warrant a positive or neutral feedback.

Do EBAY customers a favour (which is what some of us are) and report these guys .... they make others afraid of EBay.

If you do NOT do your part and report negative feedback stating that these are FAKE, then contrary to what you say, you ARE supporting piracy. Remember ACTIONS speak louder than words my friend. The decision is yours.

The only reason to not leave negative feedback is for fear that they'll retaliate with undeserved neg. feedback to you. But in your case, they already left positive (I still think they can come in and leave a comment or something, not sure though, as eBay is forever changing their feedback stuff). After all, feedback is everything in the world of eBay.

I don't know how to post links but the seller's ebay user id is fredpach

You can view recent transactions to find the auction.

80% of you said leave negative so I did, something to the effect that it was great service but a bootleg copy, not authentic as promised

I also did that on another seller on half.com from which I purchased 101 Dalmations.

Anyways, thanks for the advice everyone! :)

No where in either ad that I could find did it say they were authentic or not bootlegs.

Where was the assurance made by email?

Your Problem

Post by Disney Guru »

Just complain to E-bay and report him to Disney for selling Boot Legs let them deal with it!

You shouldn't have to get on his back for any which reason!

I'm against/for bootlegs. I don't know. Okay, for example, I'm in the process of creating a production # Darkwing Duck DVD collection. Some episodes are edited for content, I can live with it. However, what do I do about episodes that do not air on ToonDisney: Bearskin Thug, Aduckyphobia, and Hot Spells?

I wish Disney would at least test the market with single discs.

Well, as a seller on Ebay I agree with those of you that say Negative. :!:
There are too many of these bozo's ruining the eBay reputation and that of us reputable sellers. Just because he leaves out the fact that they are bootlegs and is very vague ( the biggest clue that they would be fake) doesnt let him off the hook. It is against eBay policy to sell anything not authentic whether it is a Chanel Purse or a Rolex watch. Anything that says it is something its not, ergo 'Disneys Lady and the Tramp' , is not only wrong, but also ILLEGAL.
You are lucky that you wont be affected feedback wise because it is almost always the case that you get the retaliatory feedback.

Ive said it before that if their is no picture and vague info about authenticity, they are either uniformed or Lying. Thats just the way I see it. It looks like you or someone already left the negative feedbacks. Unfortunately, the same person will just get a new user Id once they have a few too many, and start over fresh like Ive seen way too many times.
But at least you are making it harder for them. :)

Well at least with Bambi and Cinderella you know they are bootlegs(at least if you have bothered to do any research at all) and they are cheap.

The bigger problem is with the Little Mermaid when you plunk down $ 60US on a fake.

InvaderZIM - you would think with all that money Lucas has made he could afford a hammer. Or does he just hire people to do his hammering for him?

I don't have as big a problem with bootlegs (it's still illegal and immoral, but just doesn't bother me as much) if they are of movies that have never been released and arent scheduled to be in the near future. At least that way you KNOW ur buying a bootleg. Then again, not everyone knows what is and isn't on DVD, and can easily be duped.

I am not bidding on more of his DVDs. I won both of those auctions at the same time

By the way, I had another seller send me an imported or bootleg copy of Jungle Book 2. I REALLY didn't expect that since I could go to Circuit City and buy it right now. I was just looking for a nice used copy. Anyways, left him negative feedback also and he retaliated.

Doesn't matter. My feedback is like 650 or something and I've been ebaying since 1998. Any knowledgeable eBayer would be able to see that I was the buyer, left him bad feedback and then he retaliated.

You should clearly have seen the sign of a bad ebayer when you see the 12 bad and 21 neutral feedback.

I always take the time to read what the feadback seas and have never experienced this at all.

This guy had a lot of bad ones just for fake DVDs

Personally, I am not a fan of the bootlegs at all. I do know there are bigger crimes out there, but that doesn't make it right..Yes, I am this way about stealing cable too.

I pretty much refuse to buy any of these off of ebay, and risk it. I do think there are honest ebay'ers out there...Just seems that they are getting harder to find for Disney movies at least!
