Interesting. If that poster is right and it's only one disc, then the Target version of GWTW will be a lot like the Wal-Mart version of Oz. I was hoping Target would have a 2-disc edition with all of the BFs, missing only the trinkets and the big box (I could take or leave When the Lion Roars, since I have it on Oz).

I'm suspicious of a 1-disc GWTW Target exclusive that carries a $39.99 SRP. It's possible, but I wonder if it isn't actually 2 discs and just isn't labeled as such? If not, then I am sure that SRP is going to be substantially discounted on release day.

I'm not interested in a 1-disc copy either way. I'm hoping that either this Target release turns out to be 2 discs or, if not, that Wal-Mart or someone else carries a 2-disc version. If that doesn't happen, I'll just get the UCE (probably from Amazon or Best Buy).

The extras on the Blu-ray (that have been carried over from the 4-Disc DVD release) are all worthwhile; and I've heard that the "Scarlett O'Hara Wars" movie is fascinating. Hope it's going to be included on the UK version Blu-ray (which I have on pre-order from Amazon UK).

I'd buy a 1-disc version that's cheap like Walmart's WoO BD. I only really want the movie.

Yeah, it's a great movie! Not one I'd probably spend much money on, though.

I knew waiting a couple of months for Oz would pay off as we all know that their $35 "sale" way not a real sale (the 5-disc BladeRunner set is $25 and also comes from Warner) so this $13 BF sale is a real sale :D

Finally, BF always comes through for me as far as BDs go. Now if only they would sell a 2-disc version of GWTW, drop BladeRunner under $20 and sell a non-digibook version of NxNW and I'll be getting everything I need!

The cover for the single disc Target version looks fantastic--a refreshing change from the usual cover art choices used for this movie. :)

Do we know if quantities will be limited at Target on BF? That's an amazing price.

I received the UK 3-disc edition today. It doesn't have the MGM doc, but instead an additional dvd of the movie that I could've done without. I wasn't really interested in all the trinkets in the giftset (plus the additional cost) and since I live in Holland the Target and BestBuy exclusives are out of reach to me.
The movie looked absolutely gorgeous to me. It was also a revelation to hear it without the PAL speedup. So now I could hear it without the 4% higher pitch my dvd had. Extras seem very good too, although most of it I've already seen on the previous dvd. Disc 2 I have yet to see, but the list of movies I still have to see is pretty big so extras have to wait. The folks at Warner did an incredible job.
The 2-disc of Gone With The Wind is also on the way. I've never even seen that one. Can't wait for it.

I thought they couldn't put the movie on one DVD? Does this mean that they authored a special DVD just for the non-US Blu-ray combo packs?

Really, I'd had thought a digital copy would have been more appropriate (and cheaper)
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I believe KubrickFan is referring to the bonus DVD included in "Wizard of Oz"'s Blu-ray package. :)

Whoops, I totally forgot to mention that it's indeed 'The Wizard of Oz'.

Nah, it was me KubrickFan. If you read the thread of the post its clear its Wizard of Oz.

I just got discombobulated because my Gone With The Wind UK Blu shipped on Thursday and I was expecting it on Saturday - and I'm still curious what the 3rd disc is being as the movie has never been on a single disc before. I'm wondering if like "When the Lion Roars" on the US Oz sets, it will be a DVD18.

I got the US Oz set (mainly because I wanted When the Lion Roars) - there's no need for me to get the US GWTW set.

Just to be entirely clear (it's getting me confused :)) Gone With The Wind fits on one Blu-ray. The second one has all the extra material, apart from the audio commentary. I don't know if there's a third disc, but that's probably the dvd of the movie, then.

A question about the American "Wizard of Oz" Blu-ray set:

In the 1933 cartoon version of "Wizard of Oz", during the part where Dorothy falls on and meets the Scarecrow, my copy has some rather bad popping/scratching on the soundtrack. Does everyone have that problem or would it be a defect? :?

As far as I know the UK GWTW Blu is advertised as being 3 discs (it was advertised initially as 5 the same as the US Ultimate Collector's Edition, but this dropped to 3 more recently). I assume the third disc is a DVD, but could be wrong - but there's no third Blu-ray in the US set it could be. At a pinch it could be a music CD if not a DVD I guess.

Update It's just arrived and there is no third disc. Just the 2 blu-rays. How hard do you think it would be for a distributor in the UK to nail down the specs early so as not to mis-solicite? :?

Update to the Update Disc 2 (Suppelements) is a BD50. Now, knowing that The Wizard of Oz used AVC for its standard definition supplements this surprised me, although it does have a few more than the second disc of OZ.
