I agree. I think that "Chicken Little" may be the most underrated Disney film of all time. It gets a lot of hate, because the only modern thing that people associate it with are the inferior DreamWorks products. It was modeled, however, both in design and tone, after the Disney cartoons of the 40s and 50s, most notably Goofy's (That comes out in the proportions of the buildings and anthropomorphic characters, as well as all of the squah-and-stretch effects. Even the baseball scene is a nod to Goofy's recurring sports theme).
Abby was my favorite character, personally, and most certainly belongs on the cover.
But I digress. This may go down in history as the most epic bump of all time. I don't think there's ever been about 4 years between topic posts before! Has there?

The confused the crap out of me... I thought there was going to be like a two-disc DVD re-release of "Chicken Little" coming.
I don't find "Chicken Little" bad. There's parts of it I like, but on the whole, the story is pretty much all over the place. I just find it mediocre and often boring.

I looked at the date of the original post and for a little while I thought my car hit 88 miles per hour somewhere on the way home from my class this afternoon.Margos wrote:This may go down in history as the most epic bump of all time. Unfortuantely, there isn't. I think it would be very interesting to hear more of the filmmakers' thoughts on this movie.

There is a commentary on the Blu-ray - but only on the US release (which thankfully is coded ABC).

I have the disc and can confirm that there is a commentary.

Really? Wow.... I'd never known that... Jeez, even back then they were saving all the good stuff for Blu!

yeah, well, Europe didn't get it on their Blu-ray - despite it being advertised on the box apparently.Margos wrote:Really? Wow.... I'd never known that... Jeez, even back then they were saving all the good stuff for Blu!

Aww! That's just wrong! It was on the packaging!? That leads me to believe that its exclusion was accidental... Because that isn't right, and doesn't even sound legal....

No, I think it was intentional. The Pirates Blu-rays over here dropped the commentaries too on Blu-ray (despite being advertised as including "all DVD bonus features" and a supplemental run-time which was obviously counting the commentaries).
I think its because Disney subtitles (and even re-dubs some of) the commentaries on their European Blu-rays into multiple languages and in the rush to get early discs out simply didn't have the time or inclination to do so.
The seem better now, but a few things are still dropped... the mono soundtracks on their classics being a particular bugbear of mine (especially as the UK Blu-ray for Snow White had two 5.1 Spanish tracks! Maybe they had different voices - we hear a lot of Disney films have been redubbed recently. But surely they could fit on a small 192kps mono Dolby Digital track? The French/German European release apparently got the original English mono soundtrack!)
