No preference, except the jelly's gotta be grape, the peanut butter's gotta be smooth, and the bread can't be whole-grain.
But I think that this belongs in the Off-Topic discussion thread, unless of course Pixar has announced a film about the secret life of peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches.

I used to LOVE skippy peanut butter and grape jelly on white bread as a kid. Now I just perffer a nice skippy peanut butter sandwich. Not a fan of jelly anymore. :)

Best Peanutbutter? Skippy (smooth)

Best Jelly? Strawberry

Best Bread? Wheat

Funny, I don't like peanut butter spiked with peanut meats but I don't mind peanut meats in peanut butter cookies. When the meats are mixed with smooth peanut butter, I can't help but think of them as hard-shelled bugs when I eat it and it loses its appeal to me. But in cookies, which are as crunchy as the meats, I couldn't readily tell if there are beetles in them so it's easier to eat them.

Peter Pan Peanut Butter, chunky or crunchy, or whatever it's called is preferred

grape Jam (Welch's I think)

and wheat bread, but never that horrible kind we accidentally bought once that has sunflower seeds imbedded in the bread! It was weird and nasty!

The kind that goes into my belly.

Peanut butter is my favorite food, so I will eat any kind of peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Well, not the kind made with Smart Balance peanut butter- that was the nastiest peanut butter ever. Don't buy it. Just back away. I got it free with a coupon, but yuck.

I'll even eat PB&Js with orange marmalade if need be.

But I wouldn't eat it on garlic bread or those rolls with onions embedded in the bread.

But any other PB&J is okay with me!!!

Bread: it's gotta be regular 'ol white bread

Jelly: the one I use is a brand called "Polaner" and I think it's just a "fruit spread" but it's pretty much the same as jelly or jam

Peanut butter: I have a few favorite organic brands. Creamy or chunky is fine with me.

Preparation: it has to be a triple decker (it's preferred, but I can do just two slices if that's all I have haha) and the peanut butter has to be on the piece that's in the middle.

Preferred drink: chocolate milk... but really anything I like to drink is good with a PB&J lol

Actually I was just about to make a PB&J sandwich but wanted to browse the forum first

The bread - Non-preferential. Any bread will do for me - except the wheat bread with nuts and seeds in the slices. That's no good with PB&J. ;)

The peanut butter - Must be JIF brand (that Skippy stuff just won't cut it!). Preferrably crunchy. I like smooth too, especially the stuff mixed with cocoa. Ooohhh, so good. :)

The jelly - Dickinson's brand, available most readily at Cracker Barrel. My favorite is the strawberry.

Sliced whatever way I feel like, and there has to be a glass of milk for maximum enjoyment.... Shoot. Now I crave a PB&J with some milk, even though I'm eating fried chicken at the moment. :D

I don't usually eat jelly with my peanut butter, but on the rare occasion I do, I go with...

I like to peel the bread crust off the top, though for some reason I eat the sides (but not the bottom). Sometimes I'll put three slices of bread together instead of two, and I always lick the butterknife when I'm done. :D

Jif (possibly no longer) makes creamy peanut butter mixed with cocoa, so it's like chocolate peanut butter. I used to have the stuff all the time as a kid, but haven't gotten it in a long while. It's possibly they no longer make it now that Nutella has become popular. I just mix that with my crunchy Jif to get the same effect nowadays.

You could always go to Publix and look for it, and if they don't have it you could ask the manager to see if they could stock some. A lot of Publix stores will gladly accept stock requests from customers, but sometime require a picture of what the product you're requesting looks like. I didn't know about this until a month or so ago when my mom requesting they stock Coffee Time coffee flavored syrup to put in her milk, and our local Publix starting carrying a small stock of it. :)

:jawdrop: I grew up with Coffee Time, and they don't sell it down south! Except at your Publix, apparently! :p Thanks for letting me know about all that!

And is Nutella mixed with peanut butter yummy? Would you prefer the cocoa pb over Nutella + pb?

Coffee time! :float: You grew up in New England? I didn't know that :) My mom and I love the stuff. We used to always stock up when we went up to New Hampshire or Vermont or Mass. Now she just buys it at Publix. :D

As for Nutella + PB, it is very good, and it's been so long since I had the Jif cocoa PB, it's hard to compare. I'd say I like Nutella + PB better, but that's because I prefer crunchy peanut butter and I can mix it with crunchy, as opposed to the cocoa peanut butter which was strictly crreamy.

Yup, I'm from Massachusetts! I moved to Orlando in 2004. When I moved, I brought the bottle of Coffee Time that I was currently using at home, but when that ran out, I had no more, and my dad said that I shouldn't bring some in my luggage (when I visit), since it might spill. :(

Has anyone ever made peanut butter & honey?

I start with Jif Creamy PB (eating a spoonful right now!) :D

Put a couple of spoonfuls of PB in a small bowl, add a small amount of butter or margerine (maybe a teaspoon's worth?), and mix that up fairly well. Then add the honey to your taste and texture preference, mix it all up well, and spread on a sandwich. I wouldn't recommend adding jelly to this one.

As far as normal PB & J goes, I've been using Strawberry Preserves from Smuckers, but I like Raspberry as well. Occasionally, I will go for the classic grape jelly, but my last few jars haven't been that flavor. White Grape jelly is kind of interesting for a change of pace.

I don't know about peach, apple, or blueberry jelly... They might not work so well with the PB. I haven't had orange marmalade for several years, and I don't know if it would go well with PB, either.

I usually like Jams or Preserves, made with smaller or larger bits of the fruit, instead of jelly which is just fruit juice.
