Ne-Yo sings a song from the film called "Never Knew I Needed" and I heard it on the radio yesterday and I love it. Here is the music video for the song. I like how they choose such a young and hip artist for the film's first song. Ne-Yo is such a talented artist.Margos wrote:Wow! That was pretty cool! The Mardi Gras-colored costumes were all very nice, especially! I do wish that they had varied the soundtrack a little bit, though...

I know.... I meant for the video that Pap posted. They only used "Down in New Orleans." There's plenty of other good songs in TPatF.... "Almost There" would have been an obvious choice!

Well, the Jubilee has all of the songs from the film. They only used Down in New Orleans for the opening parade.Margos wrote:I know.... I meant for the video that Pap posted. Oh, OK. That's good to know. I just was kind of getting a little tired of 7 minutes straight of just "Down in New Orleans." Love the song, but... I don't know, it isn't one that I could listen to for too long straight without getting really annoyed.

I really want to see this show now! Lots of Tiana and Naveen, and lots of Enchanted music! I do agree that I'm disappointed that there's no Giselle anywhere amidst all of the Enchanted songs (she's my favorite...), but I thought Minnie singing "That's How You Know" was rather adorable.Poody wrote:Wow I'm amazed they're already added her to Disney on Ice! I was thinking that I wish they had done that for Enchanted... and then I see the video bellow! I hate that Minnie is singing the opening lines. Where is my poor rejected Giselle??? LOL Still very cool.
Going to see Tiana's Showboat Jubilee at Magic Kingdom tomorrow, and so excited! I experienced it twice last week... once as an observer, and once as one of the guests picked to be part of the show. Both experiences were fantastic!

I finished reading the junior novelization. I really liked the story. Some of it was very predictable, but other parts weren't at all. But all in all, I find it to be a very well written story and looking forward to seeing it even more. The novelization does leave much to the imagination and skips a lot, I just have that feeling it skipped quite a bit. Such as the important aspect of Naveen and Tiana falling in love. In the book, it just, boom, it happens, but I get the feeling it was taking a bit longer and more things happened to get them there. Because the book itself, they barely look at each other. Naveen changes way too fast in the book, I have a feeling its not so quick in the movie.

Hey, Disney on Ice needs lots of roles for it's female skaters. I'm delighted to see Tiana welcomed into the character roster so quickly.Poody wrote:Wow I'm amazed they're already added her to Disney on Ice! While I am also expecting this process to be a little less rapid in the film, I am willing to forgive the movie should it happen too quickly. Fast romance is rather normal for Disney animated features. Even "Beauty and the Beast" is guilty of this. After the scene where Beast and Belle argue after he rescues her from the wolves, his first line in the next scene is "I've never felt like this about anyone." So if Naveen realizes his feelings a little quickly in "The Princess and the Frog," don't be too surprised.Siren wrote:I finished reading the junior novelization. I really liked the story. New promotion
Disney's Facebook page has a new promotional spot for the film. This features Anika Noni Rose talking about her character and about the music for this movie.

Wouldn't the lack of Giselle on ice be fore the same reason why she was added then quickly knocked off the Princess roster? Some overly cautious lawyer concerned about using Amy Adams' likeness, I imagine?
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"
But how does Amy Adams' likeness for the ANIMATED version of Giselle matter? any more than say.... any likeness similarities between Tiana and Anika Noni Rose? Jodi Benson and Ariel? Ok, she's drawn to match her slightly more.SpringHeelJack wrote:Wouldn't the lack of Giselle on ice be fore the same reason why she was added then quickly knocked off the Princess roster? Ok, I know this is slight off-topic....

I do know that Disney was going to run into legal trouble if they wanted to continue making "Enchanted" dolls using Amy Adams' likeness; I doubt that would extend to featuring the actual Giselle character in the ice shows though.Poody wrote:But how does Amy Adams' likeness for the ANIMATED version of Giselle matter? any more than say.... any likeness similarities between Tiana and Anika Noni Rose? Agreed!!pap64 wrote:Guys, this isn't the thread to discuss if Giselle should be in the princess lineup, or to troll future princesses.

I was thinking the same, I think it's time for "Part III"pap64 wrote:Also, the thread is nearly 60 pages long. Shouldn't this thread be locked and a new one be made?

I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

The budget for the Princess and the Frog is $105 million (and not $150 million that the Wall Street Journal had speculated).
