What movies are you most anxious to see come out on DVD?

Post by Sir Hawkins »

Ok everybody, what are the top 3 movies (Disney or not) that you wish would come out on DVD, but so far there's no news to do so? Here's what I'm after....

1. The Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: Battle for Endor (you just gotta love these cheesy movies based on those rather interesting addition to the Star Wars trilogy. Does anyone know if these were filmed in widescreen?)

2. So Dear to My Heart (an absolute Disney classic! No plans for DVD release, however how in the world did amazon get this picture? http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg

3. Sergeant York (great classic! Probably one of the very few old movies to yet hit DVD)

All I have listed is mostly old-timer movies, because most of the newer ones that would have been on my list have been recently released or announced already (Indiana Jones trilogy, Star Wars trilogy, Flight of the Navigator, etc.) What's on everyone elses list?

Besides the obvious Star Wars (which is already announced):

1. Cinderella
2. Song of the South
3. King Kong (the original)

2) Murder on the Orient Express
3)Sentimental Journey (old tearjerker from the 40s)

1) Bambi (yeah, I it's in the Platinum release, but no date has been announced)
2) Johnny Tremain
3) Sword and the Rose

1. Swan Lake (I saw this movie when I was kid, and I absolutely LOVED the film. I just wish it was easier trying to find this anime, though. I bet Disney could do a "Swan Lake" movie, with Tchaikovsky's music--the same way with Sleeping Beauty)

2. Wakko's Wish (Sure, it's a DTV film. But I've always loved Animaniacs.)

3. Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (I've never seen the movie. I read the book, though.)

I guess:
1. all the unreleased Disney "classics"
2. The ORIGINAL Star Wars Trilogy (without the goddamn extra Jawas, thank you very much)
3. Blade Runner SE

Others include:
- Silent Night, Deadly Night Parts 3-5
- Dawn of the Dead box (announced for September)
- Two Guys & a Girl (TV series)
- Halloween 2 - TV Cut
- Halloween 2 - Rick Rosenthal Cut
- Halloween: Homecoming (original cut of Halloween: Resurrection)
(see a pattern here?)
- 1001 Erotic Nights Part 2
- Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
- Every Simpsons episode ever made...

I would say:

obviously, the rest of the Disney animated classics
and the rest of the live action Disney films (many of which I've not seen, but would love to)
North (the Rob Reiner comedy starring Elijah Wood and Bruce Willis)

Some made-for-TV Disney films:
Principal Takes a Holiday
My Date with the President's Daughter
The Even Stevens Movie

And then there's TV shows, which above all else, I'd love to see:

The Adventures of Pete & Pete
Home Improvement
Good Morning, Miss Bliss
The Real Ghostbusters
NewsRadio (three months after it was supposed to be released, and still no new date)
ALF
Even Stevens
Growing Pains

1. "Wonderfalls"- The Fox series that was canceled after only 4 episodes.
2. "Cinderella"- How rude of Disney to release the DTV sequel before the original classic.
3. "Harry and the Hendersons"- I used to watch this movie every day when I was 3. It is so funny and desirves a nice DVD release.
I'm currently watching and reviewing every Disney film in chronological order. You can follow along at my blog, The Disney Films, and also follow me on Twitter.

Pretty much all the movies I want on DVD are out not in one form or another, but there's one I really wanna see is the James Dean movie, East Of Eden. It's been held back cause of unspecified legal troubles. Hopefully they can get those resolved in short order cause it's a movie that deserves to be seen in it's original CinemaScope ratio...

I'm waiting for Cinderella, but I think that's the only one that I'm waiting for from Disney. Oh, and the Even Stevens Movie.

That's awesome, I would love to watch some of these episodes sometime. I've played with He-Man toys before (old, not the new ones that just came out) and read about four She-Ra books as a child.

I want Doctor Who: Castrovalva and Doctor Who: Genesis of the Daleks (as a spiffy 2 disc set) on DVD. Now!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
