Inserts in Adven. of Ichabod/Mr. Toad?

Post by Disneydood »

Hi, sorry if this is a lame question, but have recent copies of the Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad DVD come with a paper insert/chapter list? I just got it and there was nothing inside the case, I figure it came with one back in 2000 and was dropped over time, but I'm just curious if its been 'insertless' for a while or if they just started skimping out on copies made this year. Thanks!

Disney has abandoned the practice of printing inserts, so even though it originally came with one, copies that were printed more recently don't have them. I've noticed that Disney has done this with any DVDs that are still in print that used to have inserts. With the exception of promo booklets and DMR codes (and Diamond Editions), Disney no longer does inserts.

Thanks, I figured that was the case. Does anyone (who I guess got a copy of Icky/Toad "recently") know when they stopped putting them in current dvd's? ie. I'd feel better if it hasn't had one since 2006 rather than 2009 :)

Thanks aliceinwonderland, nah I'm probably good :)

miloj... I can't tell if you think them not putting the inserts is lame or my question is lame... you'd probably be right on both counts ;)

AliceinWonderland if you're still offering, I'd love a scan of the inset. I just bought mine as well and it doesn't have an insert.

Bought mine just a few months ago (I wanna say sometime in May or June), and I got an insert. There should be a few ways to tell in store if it's an older printing or a newer.

-Applies ONLY to Gold Classic titles - The banner at the top has changed over the years, older printings will have a shiny golden look to it, newer ones will be static yellow colouring.

-Most printings in the past year or two have featured the Disney Movie Rewards in the corner. So if it's there, it's a new copy, if not it's older.

-Applies ONLY to Canadian collectors - Look at the back, anything released or printed in the past few years (three?) have featured both the MPAA and Canadian ratings, older printings will have just the Canadian and a Canadian flag in the corner.

Again, just some advice as to see if you've got a newer or older printing, with the newer ones missing the inserts. My copy that's 5 months old is an older one as all of those rules applies to it.

That's very interesting... I will look next time I'm having the same problem again. I'm usually one of the strange guys at the store who's analyzing the placement of glue on the side and the # of security seals to tell if it's new or old ;

Actually the copy I bought the other day has the "older" gold foil looking strip across the top and it still had no insert. And the site I normally go to for replacement covers and inserts doesn't have one posted.

On another note apparently there was a special cover for Ichabod/Mr. Toad via Disney Movie Club. There's a pic posted here:
