Hallmark Movie Channel
I don't remember seeing this mentioned yet, but many people may like to know that The Hallmark Movie Channel has been and continues showing many classic Disney movies.
They have commercials, and frequently there are blurbs pasted on the screen, but it's a great alternative for those who don't want to buy all these movies.

I've never seen it. But I'll bet you money that it's about a person, whose name is Bailey, and that person accidentally makes a mistake, ScapsEscapay wrote: It aired on "Wonderful World of Disney", though I don't really remember what it was about.

Now I wanna see it to see what kind of mistake would merit naming the movie after it!

Perhaps Bailey's the one who suggested that Bobby Driscoll wear a lace collar for SotS. That's a pretty big mistake.Escapay wrote:Margos wrote: I've never seen it. But I'll bet you money that it's about a person, whose name is Bailey, and that person accidentally makes a mistake, Scaps

In the movie, it's Johnny's ma (Miss Sally) that tells him to wear the lace collar. Hmm, maybe her full name is Sally Bailey! After all, they don't say the last name in the movie!

I was implying that Bailey told Disney to put Driscoll in the collar during the movie....
"You know what this picture needs, Walt? That's right... lace collars. They'll be all the rage! Everyone will want one! We're sitting on a gold mine! Everyone will want to see the edgy new film in all of its lacy glory!"
I've seen SotS and know it was the mum's doing.... But yes, that would be interesting

You listed movies for The Hallmark Channel. I made the original post about The Hallmark Movie Channel. They are different. The Hallmark Movie channel has many more Disney movies than the regular Hallmark Channel and many of them are older titles not seen elsewhere on tv. Today they are showing Darby O'Gill, Gnome Mobile, and Unidentified Flying Oddball.blackcauldron85 wrote:The Disney movies they'll be playing through Nov. 21 (where their schedule calendar currently ends) are:

not everyone gets the Hallmark MOVIE Channel unfortunately. Its not available from my cable provider (Time Warner) or even my sister's Cable provider (Cox). I have the regular Hallmark channel and saw a few minutes of Blackbeard's Ghost, but didn't watch the whole thing.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Also showing this November...
Sounder, Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin, Hot Lead and Cold Feet, and The Great Locomotive Chase, That Darn Cat, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Squanto: A Warrior's Tale, Absent Minded Professor, Monkey's Uncle, Ride A Wild Pony, Now You See Him Now You Don't, and Gus.
That's the schedule as far as it goes right now (through Nov. 21). Just check the website for times. Some of them air more than once.

Hallmark Movie Channel continues to show many classic Disney movies. Napoleon and Samantha is playing as I type. The vast majority of them are shown in their widescreen form...even some of the titles that appear as P&S on dvd. I recently watched Gus and Ride a Wild Pony in widescreen (they are cropped on their dvd releases). I checked out my dvd's for comparison's sake, and the widescreen version on Hallmark Movie Channel definitely showed more picture on the left and right than is seen on the dvds. If these prints are available, why aren't they used for the dvds?...that's kind of a rhetorical question at this point.

Yes it's great that Hallmark Movie Channel is airing all of these Disney films. However, I would just as soon they didn't air them at all. The channel [along with the regular Hallmark Channel] does nothing less than butcher these films as well as the television series that they air. The films that are played on these channels all get the same treatment: they are heavily edited - they say it's for time and content yet all it really appears to be done for is to squeeze in more commercials for movies and shows that you are trying to watch but can't for their constant interruptions. I guess if you really want to watch these movies this is better than not watching them - almost. I love Disney to no end but I just cannot stand to watch "Big Red" or "Freaky Friday" for all of those commercials over and over for "Touched By An Angel" and "AMV".

Wow, I wish my cable system had Hallmark Movie Channel! (I just have regular Hallmark Channel). It sounds like Vault Disney has moved over there!
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag"- Mary Poppins
"How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know"- Pocahontas
"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether he be six or sixty. Call the child innocence." - Walt Disney

Yes, it is kind of like Vault Disney. They show a lot of older Disney titles, but they tend to show the same ones repeatedly. It was nice to see Charley and the Angel added to the lineup. It gives me hope that the few other 'non-existent' titles will show up either their or on Disney Family Movies On Demand (which is preferable to me because they don't have commercial interruptions, but I'll take it anywhere over nowhere).
