Post by katemonster »

I've been seeing commercials for this on USA and i think i might need to add it to my fall TV schedule (which is filling up fast). Anyone else excited for it?

I had no idea this series even existed until I saw a few ads for it in Entertainment Weekly last week and a pair of icy blue eyes grabbed my attention. I was thinking, "Hey, I know those eyes..." and so I googled "White Collar". Imagine my surprise when I find that it's a series starring Matthew Bomer, whom I've been a fan of ever since his short stint on "All My Children" as Ian Kipling (the boyfriend of Bianca's girlfriend) and his two-year run on "Guiding Light" as Ben Reade (though, like many fans, I really HATED how they butchered his character's history and made him go crazy). The show has a really great cast. In addition to Bomer, there's also familiar faces like Tim DeKay ("Carnivale"), Tiffani Thiessen ("Saved By The Bell"), Willie Garson ("Sex and the City"), Marsha Thomason ("Las Vegas"), and Sharif Atkins ("ER"). And I was so surprised and happy to see Diahann Carroll ("Dynasty") still looks radiant after all these years! I watched the pilot online and really enjoyed it so I'll try to catch additional episodes, be it online or on Friday nights at 10 on USA Network.

BTW, could katemonster or a mod add the "t" to the thread title, thus making it say "White Collar" instead of "Whie Collar"?

I thought when I saw this topic that it was "Why Collar?" and it was going to be a scathing critique of Johnny's lace collar in "Song of the South".

So right about the whole cast, some really recognizable names and they all just mesh so well together, especially Tim Dekay and Matt Bomer... And i agree, i was so glad to see Diahann Carroll back! She does look great and the role was written perfectly for her..

I cant wait to check out the second episode tonight!

That's the Marky version. Old and faded, so it MUST be the one the filmmakers intended.

Here's the Disney version! RESTORED! BRIGHTER! SNAZZIER! A DIFFERENT FONT THAT WILL ANNOY PURISTS!!!

Nooo! The lace collar!? But... but I thought it was banned in all 50 states due to its sheer FAIL-ness! *eyes burn out of sockets*

The problem with January 19 is there are a ton of other shows that it will be competing with. Look out! Tuesdays are generally being ruled by CBS with NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles and The Good Wife. At least they didn't try to put it on Monday nights, because "24" would have killed them. My DVR will get well-used with "White Collar", "Royal Pains", "Burn Notice" and "HawthoRNe" all returning in January and February, along with "Army Wives".

I was shocked by the finale too, though I had a feeling that was what would happen early on in the episode. I'm rather annoyed at the change from Friday nights, as I was used to watching it on Fridays.

Really? Someone else said that too, i had no idea it would happen until the very end.. I guess I'm just slow, ha.

Yes there is a lot of good stuff coming back in the winter (lots of good USA stuff too) but i can always make time for TV in the winter. I mean, i really dont want to do anything else in January and February besides sit inside and watch TV

Just wondering if anyone else here watches this. It's an awesome show!

Also, OTH fans, Hilarie Burton has signed up as a recurring love interest for Neal for all of Season 2!

Season 2 starts tonight!

Unfortunately, I fell asleep during "NCIS" today (not because it was boring, but because I was in the comfy armchair), so I missed "White Collar" but I can watch it online later this week.
