Michael Jackson's This is It

Website: http://thisisit-movie.com

Tickets go on sale September 27 at http://thisisittickets.com

Who else is excited about this? The trailer looks fantastic! This will definitely be a great finale to Michael's life! Do you think it will break concert film records? It's definitely hard to say, but this IS the last available footage of a legend. DVD/Blu-ray sales will definitely be high.

What do you think?

Why are they sellin tickets??? this should be a regular general release to the public.... least that's my opinon

As for the trailer I loved it, very captivatin, interesting and entertainting, It didn't start out with his usual hits (IE Billy Jean, Thriller, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough) had a very dramatic feel. And I'm glad that Kenny Ortega (spell?) decided to consider releasing the full (possibly 3hr) long reheraselfootage to the public.

This Is It: documenting Michael Jackson's rehearsals of the concert series of the same name, both on stage and behind the scenes. The film will comprise of Jackson mentoring his team for the 50 shows, as well as him creating, developing and ultimately staging the high-tech performances

It does look quite cool. You never know, they may have an initial period of showing, then have a back by popular demand viewings. Or they may just be releasing it for a short period in hope that lots of people will see it, then release it on DVD shortly after.

Anyway, Enjoy!

OMG. That looks incredible. And just based on the footage in the trailer, can you imagine how EPIC that concert tour would've been?!?!?!? I don't think I'll have the money to see this in the theater (or choose to spend my money elsewhere), but this definitely needs to be a DVD I rent!

I'll probably rent/buy the DVD. I think it will be cool to see for two reasons:

1.) No audience. No screaming fans. No distractions. Just the music and performance.
2.) See the "real" Michael. The one we don't see.

I agree with you Siren, I'd probaly go deaf in the theather, yet I wouldn't mind sharin thoughts bout his music while waiting for the film to start.

Movie tickets. They're going on sale in advance in anticipation of high demand / limited number of tickets. I cannot freakin' wait for this. I'll be at the computer waiting to get tickets the second they go on sale.

Is it just me, or does it seem a little screwed up to be profiting off something like this? Don't get me wrong, because I'm all for a Michael Jackson tribute. I just feel like at least some of the money should be going to charity or something.

Of course they're talking about movie tickets. How would Michael Jackson concert tickets be possible?

It's not just you. Those are my thoughts exactly.

"This is It" has been rated PG by the MPAA for some suggestive choreography and scary images.

The suggestive choreography was a default. Haha. I'm thinking that the scary images has to do with "Thriller," plus they might put the video of Michael being pulled out of his house on the day he died, which was disturbing to watch.

I don't know about the movie but as for the song, that wasn't it. Like most postumous releases we found out why it was not released in the first place.

Tickets are selling out FAST if you havent already gotten them...I'm going to see it halloween night cause for some reason that seems appropriate for Michael Jackson (cause of Thriller maybe?) plus if you get tickets through Fandango for that day they automatically enter you in a sweepstakes for a prize pack...

So happy. When tickets first went on sale, my movie theater was not selling them and was not planning on getting the movie. I went to the theater today to pick up "New Moon" tickets for my friends and discovered that tickets for "This is It" were now available. Apparently the theater was bombarded with complaints that we weren't getting it that the manager changed his mind. Needless to say I bought tickets for the first showing.
