Disney Discussion Forum a little unorganized

Post by MadHatterDesign »

Hello! I just started posting here on the forums and I notice the Disney Discussions forum is a little unorganized. I feel that just being "Disney Discussion" is to vague and lead to the large amount of pages. Would it be possible to separate discussions with different forums within Disney Discussions to something like:

"Upcoming Disney Films" "Disney Blu-Ray/DVD" "Disney Business News" "Miscellaneous Disney"?

Thanks for reading :)

Hi MadHatterDesign,

Welcome to UD! It's great to have you here!

Thanks for your feedback. The moderator team here has talked about this before and I think we generally feel that discussion is best stimulated by a less fragmented message board. In other words, the fewer forums we have, the more people and discussions we invite. While I think an individual forum can get a little congested during busy times (and Disney Discussion is certainly our most active forum here), the converse would be having a congested message board filled with lots of not-so-active forums. Ultimately, we think the community is less overwhelming with a set-up like the one we have now.

We did add some additional forums a couple of years ago. You'll find that we have two other forums for more specific Disney discussion (Disney Theme Parks and Disney Movie Club). We also have forums specifically for discussion of non-Disney home video, music/movies/TV, etc.

It might be helpful to check out this thread explaining the general definition/purpose of each forum here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=21856

I hope that as you spend more time here, the boards begin to feel less disorienting. I also hope that we see many more posts from you!

Thanks,

Aaron
