Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I saw the premiere of the double feature at the D23 Expo last month, and loved it.
So much so that I went and saw it in theatres this past Monday and Tuesday.
I'd recently bought Monsters, Inc. on DVD at Target, and it came with a voucher for a free ticket to the Toy Story double feature. And then I simply wanted to go and pay to see it again to do my own little part to encourage Disney to do more re-releases.
I went to AMC Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney, so the audience was really fun, too. Lots and lots of Cast Members. "You've Got a Friend in Me" over the end credits of Toy Story became a giant sing-along, as did Wheezy's performance in Toy Story 2.
It was great to see the movies on the big screen again. I felt old thinking that I was 10 the last time I got to see Toy Story in theatres, but what can you do?
And I really loved the 3D. I would have enjoyed a reissue of these films even without that element, but I did think the 3D conversion was incredibly well done and gave me another level on which to appreciate the visuals.

I saw it this afternoon and really liked the Intermission. I noticed one or two things I was too dumb not to notice when I've watched the movies before (something I do a lot since I have iTunes purchased copies on my iPod).
In the near future I'm going to watch my special feature disks to see if I see any of the stuff that was in the Intermission.

Yikes! I would feel robbed too! My Marcus theater didn't show the correct trailer and cropped the films into Cinemascope, so I wrote a letter to corporate about how disappointed I was at the lack of care from the theater. I got a reply from the manager of the specific theater and she sent me free movie tickets. I would suggest sending Cinemark a letter letting them know what happened and how you feel and hopefully they will handle it in a similar manner.jpanimation wrote:Saw Toy Story in 3D today. Was extremely disappointed that it didn't have the Toy Story 3 trailer or the Toy Story intermission. I really feel ripped off
Did anyone else see it at a Cinemark in RealD. Just want to know if it was the theater or if the whole chain was not using the intermission.
Also, if you have a Twitter, Lee Unkrich has one and if you send him a Tweet with the theater you saw it at and that it was missing the trailer and the intermission, he will contact them and make sure they fix it.

Well they finally got back to me only to say that Cinemark is contracted with National Cinemedia to handle all of their preshow entertainment. This means they cannot show the Toy Story intermission. Thats sucks big time, but at-least they finally added the Toy Story 3 trailer (to bad it was released to the world today, so its not so exclusive anymore).
No free tickets or apology or anything like that. Cinemark is still a classy joint and is the only 3D equipped theater with in hours so they'll still be getting my business. Its just when you pay a butload of money to see these 3D films, you expect everything to be perfect.

I had a feeling it would be a big enough success that they'd keep it in theaters longer (like with the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds concert).
That's good news, I'd like to go see it again!
And cool info on Toy Story 3, too.

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I officially hate Australia. We are so small we can really only ever support two major companies in any one field and any startups never really gain traction, meaning there really isn't any competition. In the cinemas, it's Hoyts and AHL (Greater Union/BCC/Event).
Well, as soon as I saw the poster for the Toy Story double feature I knew they weren't going to be happy. They have made mondo bucks by charging $20 a pop for 3D sessions and I just couldn't see them letting valuable screens being used for a double feature, nor would they get away charging families $40 in one hit.
Well, the bastards have found away around it - Toy Story 1 is going to be on the first week of the event and Toy Story 2 is going to be on a second. That way they can charge full price for both movies, show more sessions (without wasting valuable time for Pixar's intermission features) and royally screw us once again.
