Does anyone think that with the following Diamond Editions, Disney will release both the DVD and Blu-Ray Combo packs, or even the exclusive sets that Snow White got?

Yes. It explains what the Diamond Editions are and vaguely states that the next releases will be Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 without saying when in 2010 they are released.

Sadly one thing disney is NOT is consistant...I'd love to get all the collectors editions for these films, however you don't know when they will just pull the line/editions and release standard versions.

I think that as long as DVD still claims more of the market, they will do Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs. But Disney has never been consistent with doing box sets. The Lion King, Aladdin, and Cinderella were the only Platinum Editions to get anything like that in the U.S. So only time will tell if they will offer as many options with subsequent Diamond Editions. At my local Best Buy, they sold out of the plush sets and they only have one Limited Collectors Set left, out of 3 that they had last Tuesday. They got a bunch of the smaller book set and only have 3 left of that. So it appears that the box sets are selling well. Hopefully that will encourage Disney to continue with them.

Thanks :) ....I dont know why, but I just cant stand the fact that Disney said on the last platinum (Pinocchio) that the next platinums were snow white and fantasia...and then suddenly they decided to cancel the line and to create this new edition...I guess im a collector freak, but I would have wanted that on the back of the dvd guide of Pinocchio Disney would have said that this was the last Platinum and that the line was over with this last title...

I know technically the Diamonds are a new line that are being marketed independant of the Platinums, but I like to think of them as two generations of the same line, so the Diamonds are the next generation, does anyone understand me? I'm not sure how to phrase it
I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

I know what you mean, but then theres the issue that they are removing Aladdin from the line and that Fantasia is only a part of the Diamond edition, but not from the Platinum line, so it cant be a a next generation...its a whole mess...and I like the whole concept of the Diamond edition, the problem is that i cat stand why they dont finish what they start....all i asked was a text on the dvd guide of Pinocchio in which they were clarifying that the platinum line was over...

I REALLY hope they make a gift set like this for Fantasia/Fantasia 2000, maybe even B&B.

Yer I know, I really really wish Aladdin hadn't been given the boot! I kinda wish that the Platinums were to still continue with the addition of Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Dumbo, Alice and Wonderland, Pocahontas, Mulan, Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Tarzan and the like whilst Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs still began the Diamonds, and that the two lines, co-exsisted and only titles that had been Platinum could become Diamond, if only....

BTW, WOW the Collectors Edition of Snow White is beautiful, I'm hoping for something like that when The Little Mermaid makes it's Diamond debut!

I was watching this last night, and had a question. When you play the movie where they add in the artwork on the sides of picture to fill the screen, how come, for instance the left half has artwork (tree, red drapes, woodwork, whatever) but the right side doesn't at times? It made me think something was wrong w/my setup. Just odd to me. Thanks for any help clearing this up.
I find you pompous, judgemental, and completely self-absorbed.........would you be my friend?

I was watching mine in the "disney view" mode as well and it definitely did not do that.

Someone over at Blu-Ray.com had the exact same problem. The leading theory is that certain players have a hard time running multiple videos at once, which is essentially what is happening while you watch the film with Disney View.

Which version of profile do you have? I've heard the DisneyView function has problems working with anything less than Profile 2.0.

That must only apply to certain models. My BD player only has Profile 1.0 (it's from 2007), and while that prevents me from watching PIP features like CineExplore, it lets DisneyView work just fine. It's a Sony, by the way.

I made a 'response" towards Tiffany's "SomeDay My Prince" vid.

SomeDay My Prince Will Come: Every princess searches far and wide for their Prince to arrive in their life....For True Love may be closer then some believe.

Wal-Mart was being stupid and put the Blu-Ray Combo Packs in the plastic security cases and got rid of the slipcovers. What exactly do they do with all of the slipcovers!? And why wouldn't they put the DVD Combo Pack in the plastic security cases when they both have the exact same thing.. gah made me so annoyed.

I didn't even bother with buying the Blu-Ray Combo Pack (the one I needed) because they didn't have the slipcover and because they put so much trouble into putting it in that security case when there are plenty of other Blu-Rays and DVDs that cost even more than the 19.98 price of Snow White they had..
