3 New Christina Aguilera Songs

Enjoy:

I really like "Genie 2.0", "Dynamite" is not bad, I think it'll grow on me but I'm not feeling "You Are What You Are Beautiful".

You're welcome! So, I'm listening to the new songs now. I liked "Dynamite". It's not her best song, but it's a good song.
I'm listening to "Genie 2.0" now- I've heard this one a few times now (watching performances). I like it, but not as much as the original. On its own, not comparing it to "Genie In a Bottle", it's actually very good. I guess I need to think of it as a remix (I know it's a remake, but it's like how remixes sometimes totally change the song, like with Jennifer Lopez's "Ain't It Funny", for example, of which I also prefer the original over the remix).
I'm listening to "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)" now. I was't sure if it was a remake of "Beautiful" or not, but, of course, it is. The original is definitely better, in my book. It's an interesting song. It's not horribly bad or anything...if the music were to different lyrics, for example, I might like it a lot more...After listening to the whole song now, though, it's kind of boring...
I prefer "Genie 2.0" to "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)"...I guess I have less of a problem with artists making newer versions (more so for concert performances, I'm thinking) to their faster songs than to ballads (I'm just not used to artists remaking their ballads).
So, I would rank them, from my favorite to least favorite:
1. "Dynamite", 2. "Genie 2.0", and 3. "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)"
I just can't really see myself playing "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)" often at all, whereas "Genie 2.0" is a good song (even though it'd be better if it were all original material...).

Thanks Nick!
I can do without the Beautiful remake, it is sooo boring and is the complete opposite of the original, which is the problem...
I actually like Genie 2.0, I've wanted to hear more of this since the VMA's and I think I like it more than the original. Not sure yet...
Dynamite is just average which is worse than if it were bad, because then at least we'd have something to talk about. Blah, Blah, Blah!
Oh and the fact that the UK gets the extra songs sucks. It's like ice cream in the winter, there is just no reason for it. Shameful. I would have bought it otherwise.

The "Beautiful" remake is terrible! I'm sorry, but the original is fantastic, and should have been left alone. It's not old enough to be revamped anyway.

The Beautiful remake is awful. It hasn't been my favorite song in the world since I overplayed it several years ago, but it had a lot of heart, and this remake just sucks every bit of heart and soul out of the song. And it's not the type of music - electronica can have heart and soul. (Just listen to Madonna's Ray Of Light album.) But yes. That song should have been left alone.
I love Genie 2.0 a lot. This style works for it.

More info on Christina's movie:
Cher officially joining Christina Aguilera in "Burlesque", more details revealed
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnoth ... 92260.html
Musical will be first movie star role in a decade
In what will be her first movie star role in a decade, Cher is set to join Christina Aguilera in "Burlesque," a contemporary musical for Screen Gems.
Steven Antin will direct from a script he wrote that was revised by Susannah Grant (Daily Variety, May 4).
Aguilera will play an ambitious small-town Iowa girl with a big voice who comes of age in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard that's run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and gives the young girl a chance to shine.
Cher will sing onscreen. While her voice has been heard in many films, "Burlesque" will mark the first time she'll be seen singing in a film she stars in. Cher last starred in "Tea With Mussolini" in 1999.
Donald De Line will produce. Production begins in November.
Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper said he has been lobbying Cher to make her screen return, and once she said yes, it was a matter of creating room in her busy schedule of touring and performing in Las Vegas.
"She brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story," Culpepper said. "The only person who was more excited than I am is Christina."

I don't care about anything but an album.
4 years is too long for a pop artist to be without a CD, there is absolutely no buzz surrounding her because she doesn't keep her name in music business news.
Perfume= Boring
Movie Role= Boring
Having a Baby= Boring
She is doing everything except what she should be doing which is releasing new music.
I love Christina but COME ON already!

I kinda agree with you. I wouldn't say Christina was boring but in the music industry you need to stay relevant and she keeps taking 4 year intervals between each album (2002 Stripped, 2006 Back To Basics & 2010 Light & Darkness). I think you can go to the other extreme and release a new album every year and be absolutely everywhere to the point artists' music is being forced down peoples throats but she is the opposite. Every other year would be fine, maybe 3 years (pushing it) but anything over that is too long.MutantEnemy wrote:I don't care about anything but an album.
