Wow Tangela, you are really weird
Not because you aren't going with the "general flow", it's because you can't see the greatness in these movies. These movies are like 1000 times better than "The Rescuers" (oops!
). Anyway, I voted for TLK, I can watch that movie all over again without getting bored
It's a masterpiece!

Yeah? Well guess what? I literally watch The Rescuers up to three time every single day and you know what? I always feel that I can't wait to see it again, The Lion King, however, is played at my house about once every three weeks, and Beauty and the Beast has barely been out of it's case since it was given to me.Jens wrote:Wow Tangela, you are really weirdNot because you aren't going with the "general flow", it's because you can't see the greatness in these movies. I think it is unfair comparing those two films, because they were very different in scope and tone.
Beauty and the Beast starts of like a light opera, before turning a little darker and then becoming a love story with a simple, yet effective, conflict.
The Lion King makes it clear from the start that it seeks to be epic in scope, and opens up with a "showstopper". LK is truly epic in scope, covering the LIFE of Simba and his personal journey and character arc.
Both have great animation that pushed the envelope in different ways, both have great tunes and both are genuine masterpieces of modern animation.
So there are cases for both films. Personally, I go through moods. As I said, for a pure epic dramatic piece, you can't go wrong with LK. For a love story, B&tB IS the classic love story (with Romeo and Juliet being the other contender).
I enjoy both equally, but in very different ways.

Both The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are very good movies.
This is hard to decide both movies have wonderful plots and story lines along with great music and both romantic movies this is very hard.
I'll say The Lion King is better then Beauty and the Beast.
I own both on DVD and VHS and highly recommend to get if you don't own them.

I voted for Lion King. in BATB, the Beast really bugs me. They could've made him more likeable. I know, he's cursed and pretty bummed, but stil... that's no reason to act like a [insert what you prefer]hole. The whole time while watching the movie, I just kept thinking Belle should just flip him the bird, and walk away. I myself, would never have tolerated sich a behaviour.
