I just noticed this. Now Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio were the last Platinum Editions but they didn't get a re-release soundtrack as well?!?!
Snow White is a new line in the Diamond Edition but why didn't they re-release the soundtrack as well? What's up with that?
Did the re-released soundtracks not make enough money or something?
What is everyones opinion on this as well?

Actually, Sleeping Beauty DID get a soundtrack reissue.
Pinocchio, however, did not, and Snow White doesn't seem to be getting one. Quite a bummer. Even though they're direct reissues of the tracks on previous CD's, some people don't even own the soundtracks. Plus, the new artwork on the CD's is something worth collecting, IMO.

Disney didn't always do soundtrack rereleases for the Platinum Editions. Most of the spring releases didn't get them, so Pinocchio's shouldn't have been expected. Several of the Fall Platinum's didn't get them either, such as The Jungle Book.
But I think the MAIN reason Disney didn't rerelease the Snow White soundtrack as a physical CD is that they have cut back on their soundtrack releases in preference of digital soundtracks. Up, for example, never had a physical release, only digital via iTunes and Amazon.com's mp3 store. Snow White's soundtrack is available on iTunes and Amazon.com's mp3 store, but Disney didn't do a physical release.
If you remember Disneyland Records from the past, there were the best Disney soundtracks out there on vinyl. A lot of these are collector's items as well, but a lot of these Disneyland albums can be found on eBay and other sources.
The CD's are very good including extended soundtracks to Disney animated classics back in the 1990's, but it is a lot longer than the original Disneyland version, but it was a lot better with the help of Randy Thornton, the founder of Walt Disney Records.
The soundtracks to Disney films are still available on iTunes if you can get it. The CD's are all out of print, but it is still hard to find on eBay or on other music sharing blogs or torrents for those of you who don't have any of these albums anymore.

I know my library has nearly every DAC soundtrack, some of which I've, um... listened to.
I actaully do have to sign up at my local library. I haven't since I've moved here. I have all the soundtracks, just didn't think Disney would stop re-re-releasing all there music lol.
You can always keep an eye out for a reasonably priced copy from a seller with good feedback in the Amazon Marketplace. I've bought several items from there this year, some out of print, and I've not had a bad experience yet.
I've heard Disney doesn't own the distribution rights to soundtracks up until Cinderella, when they created Buena Vista Company. Anybody know for sure? I think it might explain something.

Ahhhh, maybe that's why we haven't seen Pinocchio and Snow White again.
About a year ago I found an import edition (or so it was claimed to be) of the 2001 Snow White soundtrack, and I got that. They also had Pinocchio there, so try Best Buy!

My Best Buy near me has nothing. They switched everything around and took out a lot of Disney Soundtracks. I am not in need of any of them, as I have all of them myself. I was just saying why Disney doesn't re-release soundtracks anymore with the new Editions like they used too.
"Snow White" and "Pinocchio" both hold up surprisingly well. Apart from the reinclusion of Gepetto's vocals on "Little Wooden Head", you'd be hard pressed to do better with today's technology, I'd say.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

Do you think they would do that?!? I would still want the instrumental version, but I think having Gepetto's version as a bonus track would be great!!!
Yeah, I think I should've put that the instrumental version could be the bonus track.
Maybe it's like "On My Way" on the Brother Bear soundtrack- Koda doesn't sing at all on the soundtrack, but he sings at the beginning and end of the song. Maybe whoever made the soundtrack didn't like Gepetto's singing?
