Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House
Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House
Even though the movie made its debut on the Wonderful World of Disney, Fox is releasing it to DVD.
Specs: 1.78:1 16x9 widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1
SRP: $19.99
Release Date: September 2
I think I'll pass on this one, though I consider the original "Home Alone" a great, great film. THAT could really use a nice Special Edition for the holidays.

)
I thought he was excellent in Inspector Gadget II!

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
you know whats funny -- when I went to iran last year, I went to go look for some cheap VCD's and I saw Home Alone 4-8, all with Macaulay (same age mind you
). It was SOOOO funny!
Anyways, I wouldn't mind shelling out money for the first two SE's, if they ever made them, but 3 and 4, NO WAY!
, although the third one was quite funny!

This is so cool...
An evil spirit has overtaken young Loomis.
Ok, I was kidding (gee, Loomis - you had us all fooled. Right up until that evil spirit bit).
I'm sure it could make a good coaster.
Maybe a door stop.
I should stop dissing this. I haven't even seen it.
Or 3.
I'm sure they are quality films.

Home Alone is not Disney!
ok the Cover art for Home Alone taking the house back has a 20th Century Fox logo why is it in the upcoming disney release cover art?

Re: Home Alone is not Disney!
It's a Fox DVD release as I've made note of all along, but it originally aired on the Wonderful World of Disney, so it gets covered.MickeyMouseboy wrote:ok the Cover art for Home Alone taking the house back has a 20th Century Fox logo why is it in the upcoming disney release cover art?
It's not like there's an abundance of WWoD movies that do come to DVD.

Something about Home Alone 4...
Last November I remember watching this wretched made-for-TV movie with my older sister (having grown up Home Alone and Home Alone 2) and now that Home Alone 4 is on DVD...
What's HA4's OAR?
According to DVDverdict.com's review, the film's in both anamorphic widescreen and regular fullscreen. I saw HA4 on a fullscreen TV, and I usually assume if it's a made-for-TV movie, it's going to be fullscreen (unless noted otherwise).

From that review, it certainly sounds like it was shot and framed for 1.33:1 and then just matted to create a 16x9 version. But, I'm assuming it aired 16x9 on ABC-HD? (Not like any of us here watch HDTV programming as far as I know...)
Oh boy, debating the cinematic framing of Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House...

Apparently, the kid is supposed to be Kevin McCallister, French Stewart is supposed to be Daniel Stern's character, the parents are Mr. & Mrs. McCallister. Ugh, that's just stupid. If you go back and rewatch the first movie, you see how funny and smart and good it is...and then to watch this, or even just to hypothesize about this. (I haven't seen it.Prince Phillip wrote:In the preview they call him kevin, so are we suppose to believe this is the same kid

The first HA was a very enjoyable, original film. I'll even say that HA2 was mildly enjoyable. I wouldn't even consider watching thius dribble that is HA4 for a variety of reasons, but te kicker was that they tried to recreate the first cover (MC with his hands on his cheeks) on this one.
How pathetically sad and stupid. If a movie needs to rely on gimmicks from 10+ years ago then it probably should never have been made in the first place.
