Cinderella (the character)
The Fairy Godmother
Lucifer

Well, the thread is intended to be about 8000 reasons we love Disney (most tend to forget to provide an explanation for their reasons to love Disney and just add to the "list" ;), not necessarily a list of 8000 different things we love in Disney.

So someone can list "#600. Peter Pan" and explain why they love it, and someone else could list "#1511. Peter Pan" and explain why they love it too.

After all, mentioning "Disney Animated Classics" at #1 kinda puts a blanket over all of them, so for any further reasons that have anything to do with an Animated Classic, they'd have to be removed (don't worry, I won't do that).

BTW, you listed Walt Disney and he's already listed at #290. ;)

Anyway, here's the full list so far, doubles and all.

8000 Reasons to Love Disney

Post by Disney Duster »

Aw crap! Ah, well.

Walt Disney's Cinderella (the film) is a masterpiece that saved the studio and became one of Walt's favorite films, a truly funny, magical, and happy film that embodies Walt's idea of dreaming something and making it happen.

Cinderella is a girl who tries to run her life as best she can while still obeying her stepfamily for most of the time, but hangs onto her dreams and beliefs in her misery, and snarkily jokes about things alongside her kindness, and has an excellent, elegant sense of style.

The Fairy Godmother comes to give Cinderella hope, and gives comedy, a sense of amazement, and a sense of something out there miraculously making us happy eventually with her personality and magical doings, plus she has a cool hooded cloak.

Lucifer is an awesome cat who can defy the laws of physics and provide always truly funny moments along with his menace. He's even cute.

Cinderella's transformation had a dear place in Walt Disney's heart as his favorite animation and is amazing in how it was ever thought of or done and looks breath-takingly beautiful and cool, as well as providing much happiness for the main character and her film and it's creator and it's audience.

Walt Disney was a man who loved fantasy and imagined great, brilliant things that still speak to us and are marveled at today, and always believed that good would conquer evil and dreams and happiness would come true in the end. He knew people disagreed and he kept displaying it in his films no matter what.

Disney dust is a beautiful and cool special effect and idea and was something liked very much by Walt Disney and is in many of his films. It was the first of it's kind but ever since then it has been associated forever with magic or fairies and for many it is accepted as something real not created by someone but must have been a part of magic or fairies all along if they were real.

And don't we all look forward to seeing Cinderella's ballgown? It was always the highlight for any Cinderella story I watched as a kid... :)
