The Pooh Re-releases

Post by zackisthewalrus »

What's with them? Do they really make sense? Why re-release this crap when you could re-release decent things that NEED a re-release like Hercules, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, etc. Plus, some good films haven't even gotten a release. Disney better be building something up with all of these unreasonable re-releases.

Maybe they are trying to make buyers more conscious of the traditionally animated Pooh while the new 2-D film is being completed?

[sarcasm]But "Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine For You" hasn't been released since 2004! FIVE WHOLE YEARS! We need it re-released ASAP otherwise children growing up today will be deprived of this wonderful Valentine tale! I mean, when they ride the Pooh attraction at Walt Disney World and go to bed with their Winnie the Pooh plush toy, they won't fully grasp what Pooh is unless they have this special! I applaud Disney for re-releasing "Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine For You" over something trivial like Fun and Fancy Free! Who needs Mickey Mouse when you've got POOH?!?[/sarcasm]

:D Thanks Zack.

As they say in Miss Congeniality, "In place of friends and relationships, you have sarcasm and a gun."

Well, I don't have a gun, I have friends. But "In place of guns and relationships, you have sarcasm and friends" doesn't sound as effective. And I always love any chance to quote Miss Congeniality, even if it's a misquote. :P

I also think the re-releases of the Winnie the Pooh DVDs are rather pointless. They do not make much an effort to improve upon them (except for adding a plushie or something else lame like that). I also agree Disney should be focusing more on re-releasing Disney movies that really deserve it (Such as Hercules as mentioned by zack).

Well, with the rumors going around, Hercules will get a new DVD/BD by 2012.

And I, for one, did not see many Pooh films when they were commercially available. I'm going to guess a lot of fans and children haven't, so there's a reason.

Well, I still need: Search for Christopher Robin, A Valentine For You, Seasons of Giving, Springtime with Roo, and Spookable/Frankenpooh (though I have most if not all of that on VHS), so any move that keeps those available is fine for me. They are among the very, very few Disney animated titles released on DVD that I still need to get (the others being The Wild, the Recess DVDs, Kim Possible: Villain Files and Stitch in Time, the Schoolhouse Rock Earth DVD, Valiant, and the Teacher's Pet movie, if I'm not forgetting anything; I suppose the Princess Stories DVDs too). Plus, with these newer releases they have been adding episodes of the TV show, so that's nicer than buying the old releases. I mean, no sign of season sets of New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh yet, so...

Ah, that reminds me, I don't have those few DVDs of Pooh episodes yet either. What are they called, "Learning with Pooh" or "Growing up with Pooh" or something... The ones with episodes of New Adv. of Winnie the Pooh. Though I do wish they'd just release a season set...

I would. It's so quotable! Why, I even made a special thread for April 25th because of it!

Today is The Perfect Date!
