So, what trailers do you think we'll see in front of this? Toy Story 3, obviously. What else?

As far as I know, studios are only allowed to request that one of their trailers be added before one of their films and the rest are up to the theater owners to attach. It would make the most sense for Disney to request that A Christmas Carol be attached since it is their next 3D release.zackisthewalrus wrote:So, what trailers do you think we'll see in front of this? My experience with 3D movies at my local theater is that they only attach 3D trailers. When I went to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, they attached Avatar, which scared kids in the audience so hopefully they don't do that again.
But it is confirmed that the new trailer for Toy Story 3 will be exclusive to this 2 week run, after which it will be posted online and appear in front of other films. I don't know if they will show that before, after, or in between the two films.

.
I would hope not....talk about scarring a kid for life.....I mean 2 year olds went to see that as well.....and its based a family film....man showing Avatar trailer in front of Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs....??? I would say air somthing else in 3D not AVATAR in front of a family friendly movie
unless they were trying to reach out to families who think SAW 6 is like showing your toddler Little Einsteins on Disney Channel which I don't think that the kids watching Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is not the kids who are going to watch Avatar.....or would be watching Saw 6 although comparing Saw 6 to Avatar may be exagerating a bit...but to a kid scary is scary....they still get the same feeling and cry if they are shown a trailer Avatar which is not intended to be an action figure shouldn't be in that.. or are shown a tv ad for Saw 6....
Of course a 5 year old I was babysitting didn't want to watch Cars because the other cars were mean to the other Cars racing....and they were being rude

they showed TWILIGHT before Harry Potter 6 and there were children in the audience......that werewolf guy was freaky!
I'd say they'll show "Where the Wild Things Are", perhaps "Astroboy" and maybe a movie trailer like "Percy Jackson".

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I just got done with the double feature. It was.a lot of fun but there were some really annoying issues at the theatre.
The theatre management had down imcorrect info on the film and they thought the film was meant to be shown in scope. This meant that the image was cropped to 2.35:1 for both films. It also meant that they chose to show only scope trailers at the start. Since the new TS3 trailer has only come out to be shown before the double feature it was only released in a flat ratio. Because of this we instead saw the original TS3 teaser formatted for scope.
Still, the movies are awesome and I had a great time seeing them on the big screen and in 3D.

Well in my opinion....thats a differ story as Twiglight in my opinion isn't too far off the beaten path from the stuff we see in any of the Harry Potter films....jediliz wrote:they showed TWILIGHT before Harry Potter 6 and there were children in the audience......that werewolf guy was freaky!

I just got home from seeing it and my theater DID THE SAME EXACT THING! YIKES! I didn't know much about digital projectors, so I went and told somebody. Midway through they stopped the first film to try to correct it, but they couldn't. A friend of mine who works at a movie theater said they probably didn't switch the settings from the previous film in that theater (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs in cinemascope). It's sad because studios send a guide to every theater about how to display their films and it sounds like a lot of theaters ignored that.frozenhamster wrote:I just got done with the double feature. But incorrect aspect ratio aside, the double feature was a lot of fun and I noticed a lot that I never could see on DVD.
Kay so a friend and I saw this tonight. We were both so excited, ita all we talked about all week. We even went and got our tickets yesterday after school. Anyway IT WAS AMAZING! I loved everything about it, the movies, the intermission, the toy story 3 trailer. Just an amazing experience. The theater was fairly busy, not packed by any means but there was a good amount of people, children and adults.

Went to the Double Feature tonight. I was originally going to it with 3 friends, but 2 of the friends didn't show up early enough before it SOLD OUT! Yes, it sold out. I'm hoping for more future re-releases because of this. Anyway, the Toy Story 3 trailer had me and my friend, Sam(antha), laughing our throats out. The intro to the double feature was really good too.
The first movie starts. I really liked how smoothly they moved the new Pixar logo into the movie since it used to just be the Walt Disney Pictures logo. I noticed a lot of things I hadn't before (I can't remember at the moment, but when I go see it again, I'll take a notepad. Haha). The audience was also very reactant which kinda surprised me, but made me happy nevertheless. The flying sequence looked AMAZING in 3D. Oh, and it was awesome watching it in surround sound since we don't have a surround sound system (we're getting our first one soon!
). I think the inclusion of the credits at the end confused a lot of people because a lot of people left after the first film. It made me even more pissed that my other friends didn't get in.
The intermission was fun! I answered, like, all the questions because I'm AWESOME! Haha. The new bits were good too. My friend turned to me in the middle of it and said, "Wow Zack, you're a 14 year old, and you know all of these answers." A 20-something year old woman in front of us turned around and said, "How old are you?" I replied, "14. 15 next month." She replied, "Wow, that makes me feel old." SUCCESS! Haha
The 2nd one started. I thought it kinda started randomly. It wasn't even like, "And now, Toy Story 2!" It just kinda started. Not complaining, it was just kinda weird. In this one, I noticed that while Rex and Buzz are playing the video game, if you look behind them, there's an A Bug's Life calender. I'd never noticed this before. The 2nd one is better in my opinion, so I enjoyed it a lot. I'm glad they included the outtakes in the credits as they've just been a bonus feature on the DVD.
Overall, it was a fun 3 hours well spent! The trailers they showed before our showing was Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and the new Toy Story 3 trailer. Instead of it being Real-D, it was Dolby Digital 3D. It was... weird. And different. Haha. But yeah, go see it if you can.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I loved the intermission as well, but I thought you should know that the "treats" they showed weren't new. They were actually made when Toy Story and Toy Story 2 came out and were played on Disney's One Saturday Morning during the commercial breaks. Many of them are on the DVDs as bonus features.zackisthewalrus wrote:The intermission was fun! I answered, like, all the questions because I'm AWESOME! Haha. The new bits were good too. I don't know if you missed it or what, but they actually mentioned that Toy Story 2 was about to start and then counted down to it. It was really cute. What did you guys think of the Toy Story 3 trailer?
-I loved the beginning flashbacks of Andy's childhood.
-(Future) Andy looks GREAT!
-His room does not look weird at all and I was worried about that!
What I did not like was:
-Buzz being turned into Spanish mode. I hope he is not himself for only 5 minutes at most.
-The day care center plot is a little weird for me. Maybe it's because I'm so used to the first two Toy Storys that everything new will feel odd.
