In that case, nobody should be posting in any of the Princess and the Frog or Rapunzel threads, where every little piece of artwork gets scrutinized to death.
Look, I want to know some things and not other things. I have hardly been in The Princess and the Frog thread recently because now their are very, very many spoilers, and the movie's coming out soon. Rapunzel doesn't have many spoilers because it's just concept art right now! I didn't read the whole Rapunzel story and article and some other spoilers people warned about!

We can want some spoilers but not a lot. Not that many.

Since he doesn't like spoilers, it's rather nice he gave any at all.

It's nice to see a blu-ray getting an insert for once.

...but what is being spoiled about a movie that came out almost 70 years ago? They're just asking questions what's on the disc I hardly see that as something to be spoiled over.

I am shocked as well. Hooray for the advent of Blu-Ray inserts!

The Microsoft Paint job that Marky is so insistent Disney is doing.
Soups wrote:They're just asking questions what's on the disc I hardly see that as something to be spoiled over.
Especially when it's already established what's on the disc because:

1. The press release already states what's new as well as what's carried over (more or less).

2. BBFC has cleared many, if not all the items that will appear on the disc. And anything not cleared is already on the 2001 DVD and already has a good chance of being carried over if it's not text-based material or Babwa Stweisand.

3. Disney already released images of the cover (front and back), so we already know what the thing looks like, and surprise surprise, the back lists what's on the disc too!

4. The movie was previously released to home video in 1994 and 2001. I highly doubt anything's changed to the movie. Snow White still is a Shrill, the Queen still drinks the potion, the Prince still wears lipstick, the Dwarfs still dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in their mine the whole day through...

Seriously, why should anyone bother worrying about "spoiling" the release when so much is already known without anyone even having an advanced copy? Sure, someone can reveal something like "on the new documentary, it features Disney historian Leonard Maltin talking about a Snow White sequel!" but really...is that a spoiler? He's on every other Disney DVD anyway. As are other mainstays like John Culhane, John Canemaker, Brian Sibley, Paula Sigman, etc. A major spoiler would be something like, "Leonardo DiCaprio makes a rare DVD appearance to talk about his secret love for the film".

The only thing left to spoil is what the Sneak Peeks are and honestly, will people really be *that* concerned if those are revealed or not? Will someone suddenly not buy the Blu-Ray because it doesn't have a one-minute commercial for Disney Movie Rewards? Will they think Disney failed on the release because the Sneak Peeks menu relegates the "Coming to DVD" trailer for Up to the second page?

I just wanted to comment on something they started doing way back - the inside of the case reveals the scene selections using the back of the cover. I really, really like that a lot! If Disney ever goes cheap on DVD inserts, I'm glad they'll still print the scene selection behind the cover!

I agree. While Blu-Ray didn't typically have inserts, they did have the chapter selection in the background. I was sad when Disney stopped doing that last year and am glad to see it return.

I'm also glad that Disney has stopped wasting so much plastic and is finally doing a 3-disc set with spindles for each disc in a standard sized Blu-Ray case. They often resorted to using DVD-width cases, which frustrated me because one of the great things about Blu-Ray is that it frees up some space on my shelf.

Not to dive back in the brownpuppy discussion, but I agree with Scaps and join him in NOT apologizing for my comments. They weren't insulting, I was just stating what I saw. And what I see is that brownpuppy mainly likes to post about an advance copy he got, ignore questions and disappearing until the next anticipated released.

Like I said, I can't force people to change their posting styles. But even then a style can become grating and obnoxious. If brownpuppy truly doesn't want to divulge spoilers why even post about it? He should know that if you get something in advanced, and its highly anticipated people WILL ask how he got it, how is it, what does it have, does it live up to the hype etc. etc. Again if he doesn't want to bother with that why ask?

This sort of thing is better off as Facebook comments, like "I got Snow White early!" and be happy.

We're quite used to that in Australia, because 99% of cases used are clear plastic. Double-sided slicks are commonplace for most DVDs over here.

Other than the Platinum/Diamond Editions, Disney has stopped including the Scene Listing on the reverse sides.

I

It's easier than going through 10 pages of tiny screencaps searching for where you thought that scene with the old man signing about fire was - instead you just dial in the number and go.

Then there are the more weirder navigation systems that they put on BDs, but the usually have text captions which helps.

Wow! You got the Blu-Ray/DVD Diamond Edition so early. This one isn't out yet when it comes out in two weeks. I'm not definitely looking forward to get it. I've been through this many times that I still have the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD of "Snow White", and I'm still keeping it. This is one of the first Disney DVD's released as a Platinum Edition back in 2001.

I will show you some pics of the DVD menus from the 2001 Platinum Edition soon.

I hope if this film is using the original RKO version with the main titles and the ending titles fits beautifully with the film itself, not just the reissued Buena Vista titles. The ending has the cut short 2006 Walt Disney Pictures logo came after the original RKO end title, but the beginning itself doesn't have it, just the main title, not the new logo.

My 2001 Platinum Edition DVD has the old Walt Disney Pictures logo from 1990 that goes with the main titles which was the reissued Buena Vista version instead of the original RKO ones. Disc 2 does have the original RKO main titles on there as well as the end title with narration included.

brownpuppy wrote:HELLO EVERYONE!

Alright, I just gotten through watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Blu-Ray and let me just say, I'm so blown away, this movie is the first film that will always have the throne of becoming a classic. Today's Disney that's going on now, cannot match to this film or the other classic films made after Snow White. When you get the Blu-Ray disc you will be blown away and love the new digital restored animations as if you were in the museum watching a masterpiece (and I mean it). Now...I don't do SPOILERS so here's a heads up on what to expect.

HEADS UP!
- Go into the magic Mirror, Mirror on the Wall game to see which Princess you are.
- There will be a sneak peek of the new Disney film for 2009, "The Pirncess and the Frog" and its a rough cut of the film from the beginning it takes about only 6 minutes for the preview. And all I have to say is, this will be the new classic Disney film for the 2010's because I see a resemblance to "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin". And most of all I love hand drawn animations period (no 3D).
- Take a look at the documentary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on how it started it all.
- And this Blu-Ray also includes the DVD inside for only the film.

And that's all I'll give you. Bye-bye...oh yes and one other thing these are ads I scanned to show to most who wanted to know the next releases.

Hope it satisfies you guys, Bye Bye. :)
Thanks for the ads. I'm getting "Dumbo" on DVD in February as a Platinum Edition. Platinum Editions never die when it comes to this.

I just want to say that this past Sunday, I was at a flea market, I got an original Disneyland records released of the soundtrack to "Dumbo" (DQ-1204). This is the soundtrack that I'm adding to my Disneyland LP collection along with the Storyteller album (ST-3904) with Timothy the Mouse and the extended CD soundtrack from 1997.

I personally can't wait, and while I do own the 2001 Platinum edition I always get caught up in the marketing storm/blitz and get the newest releases. There is just something speical when you get the newest releases...I dunno. Plus at 14.99 for the Blu Ray it's really not breaking the bank too much.

I dunno what's the big deal about the opening/ending title sequence, but that's cool if they reverted back to the orignal for you dude. Also I'm not quite sure how you're going to get Dumbo on Platinum as it isn't going to be released as one.

Nice disc art for a Blu-Ray/DVD release, that would be better if Disney backs away from this horrible mess of gray discs.
