I'm afraid of fish, and am quite humiliated by it, actually. It happened at a zoo where they had an aquarium with stingrays to pet. Now, I didn't even try that, and suddenly one popped up from the sides. It totally scared me and I've never liked any type of fish from then on. Of course sharks are part of it, but it isn't even restricted to only sharks. All fish are my enemy :). I thought the big fish in The Sword in the Stone was pretty scary too, but that was prior to all this.
So I can't even go through those glass hallways you have in Sea World, with the fish swimming all around you. Certain scenes of Planet Earth weren't exactly fun to watch either, on a big screen. But it's got a name, Ichthyophobia so I guess I'm not alone.

And I also have a weird fear of hights. I can handle heights but if I have to walk down from something, or up to something, and I can see the view below me I'm petrified, suddenly. I can't explain it.

Anyway, these are my fears. I think they fit the 'irrational' part of the OP.

I have two irrational fears...

The first is that of bridges. Yes its odd, what happened was that when I was a kid my parents attended an event and we had to cross a rickety old bridge to get there. You know, the kind that moves with every step you take. My dad wanted to be a jackass so when we started crossing he starts to jump up and down and the WHOLE thing shook really badly, to the point where I lost balance and nearly fell off.

From that point on, whenever I cross a bridge my feet start to tremble, I get dizzy and breathe hard. This gets worse if the bridge doesn't look safe or stable. I have to cross it holding someone's hand and look at the floor, ignoring the sides because I freak out and refuse to move on.

I can cross bridges fine during the day, but at night I REALLY lose it. I just hate crossing bridges at night, It just makes me upset.

The other fear is that of...

Get ready for this...

Frogs. Yes, I am scared of frogs and toads. Once again because of a childhood incident. I was at my grandmother's house when I went into a shack to get a banana. When I enter, I stepped on something squishy, warm and gooey. I look down and noticed a HUUUUUUUUUUGE frog...it jumps and it croaks. He scared me so badly that I ran out of the shack, I tripped and scrapped my leg in several places.

From that moment on frogs disturb me. I don't mind the cute, tropical frogs which are really small and have a nice sound. But big old frogs...YECK!

Sorry Naveen and Tiana... Nothing personal.
