In the past years, Lionsgate has released one season of Weeds each summer - right before the newest season's premiere. Apparently this is all going to change in January when they release The Complete Fifth Season onto DVD and Blu-Ray disc. They speculated that the release date could change to June to follow the pattern of the releases (releasing the show's previous season weeks before its new season premiers so they can promote the show).
Knowing the show, the fifth season probably ended with a cliffhanger (I no longer get Showtime so I only saw 2 episodes from season 5), so if the DVD is released in January the cliffhanger could build up anticipation for the sixth season, but who knows. Also, if they release the DVD in January, they could potentially release the sixth season in late fall 2010 or early 2011. I'm curious to see how this will work out, and I can't wait!

That's good. I too have missed season five on TV, and have heard such polarizing things about it that I need to see it on my own. And the sooner, then better...
